Flaws and All
It’s amazing how we look down on ourselves in our younger days. I asked Ashley just how she applied the lessons of her youth to her life. What made her stronger?
I have always had a passion for beauty ever since I was younger. It wasn’t until I landed a job with Chanel while pregnant my daughter, that I learned of my determination.
First of all can we say yes ma’am to working for one of the most coveted beauty brands. Chanel is known for their care of beauty and prestige.
I needed to elevate my career within the beauty industry. Chanel’s detailed training (program) was the perfect fit.
Ashley talks about the 3 hour interview process. It was intense but she got the job offer the same day. It paved the way into her future endeavors. After having her daughter she went on to be hired as a freelancer which allowed her to meet women, travel to various stores, as well as hone in her craft. She learned a valuable lesson,
being laser focused on my goals and not let self doubt or the what if’s creep in!
Oh what a lesson we can learn when we learn to never stop learning and to push ourselves to our goals!
Trust Your Dopeness
I don’t know anyone especially women who have had to be reminded to trust your gut instinct. That part of you that feels the answer but ignore it. Also trust that you’re naturally dope or an amazing individual. Ashley struggled with that realization in high school. A lot of our perceived notions have been shaped or broken during that very sacred time. Ashley remembers what it was like:
I was being mad fun of and ridiculed and the self confidence I thought I had was crushed by my peers and their standards of what beauty looked like.
I’ve said this before sometimes grown women are attempting to heal the little girl inside of them from band-aids and wounds of the past. And it’s amazing that Ashley now is able to help women focus on their beauty and tap into their confidence so they can crush those very same insecurities now. This is why make up artist, beauty brands, and hair dressers are like mobile therapist in a way. They can bring out what we refuse to see in ourselves. We have to do the work to continue to see ourselves in the best light!
Growing Through
Jatior Beauty is Ashley’s beauty baby. This amazing brand isn’t simply a product. It’s about helping women love themselves while providing them service and artisan products. Ashley Willis is learning to apply the lesson of self trust as she builds this brand. It’s one thing to work for Chanel but another to know that her product is just as exclusive, rich, effective, and worthy. When you have been surrounded by the likes of Chanel and the prestige you have to bring that level of amazing to your own. Jatior has the same level of quality. Jatior is for the modern women. They provide outstanding lashes as well. It’s about enhancing women’s natural ability so they can step out of their comfort zone and love themselves.

Building a brand is just about the product. Although the product is an important aspect, you also have to be able to have the passion to keep it going!
The biggest strife is working with my mindset
It’s combining one part impact of the women’s transformation and one part client’s experience. Learning to focus on that while making Jaitor all that it can be and more has been challenging. It’s not just a product. It’s the passion for what the product does behind the simply application.
Knowing I am empowered and working with women to feel beautiful and confident makes me feel I’m not alone!
Self Care Super Powers
Mastering 10 minutes or me time daily is key! Ashley is a mompreneur, wife, and friend can be overwhelming. Learning to reset is important to me your whole being. Knowing that setting that set time makes the day go smoother. I don’t know who needs to hear it but exercise the power of 10 EVERY single day!
Daily Motivation
We all should have something that motivates us. It should fuel the drive. For Ashley it’s her children. Her daughter who is her biggest cheerleader. Who doesn’t love it when their children call them blessed? Ashley also in turns does whatever she can to build her children up by leading by example. She hopes to help them know their can achieve any goal they set tor themselves.
Ashley used her skills in beauty to land her dream job with Chanel. She pushed past her insecurities to launch Jatior Beauty. She’s setting aside her daily 10 minutes of self-care, inspiring her children and us. She is a woman we are honoring. She is also one to watch.
