Happy Wednesday. Can you believe that we are literally at the end of the month? Just 2 more months and basically one once November comes to the end of the year? That is excited and scary at the same time. Do not let it alarm you. FYI we are going to cover why you should be working towards Quarter one goals now too. However this week has come with its own challenges.
Wednesday High School Update
We are still moving on this process. I don’t think that I was as mentally and emotionally prepared for this process as I hoped I was However, I definitely am doing all I can to support my daughter in this. We want her to be happy and to go where she can get the most of her time that will lead her closer to her dreams. In addition any program that can have her prepared regardless of what her next steps become is the goal. Philadelphia’s highschool process is far from easy regardless if it’s for public or Catholic school. We have found that out. I reminded my daughter that this is a real close process to getting into college. We are surrounding her with love to help decrease the stress. Also adding in some down time and helping her practice her own level of self care too.
Saw the Musical
If you missed my update on seeing Saw the Musical read the blog. There are elements of gore but overall it’s much more light than the original movie. I loved it. A little unknown fact I was never allowed to watch scary movies or participate in Halloween. It took me having kids to really do much Halloween things. However I still won’t watch Halloween movies that are scary unless it’s in the day time. It is what it is. Tickets are limited with the last showing on October 30, 2022.
This Week’s Self Care
I have been dousing myself in self care. My SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is back. For me that means me recognizing what I need. I have been focusing on the things that I need. For instance it could be sleep, eating balanced meal, writing in my journal or taking a walk. Also I have replaced two beloved items. One is my therapy light. I love it. It’s a SAD Light Lamp that allows you to pushed with great light source. This is helpful in producing the same type of lighting that the sun provides. The other item I have been using is the sound machine. Controlling the sound, as well as the light at night to help me get a good night’s of sleep has been helpful. Here are some other mental health/self-care items I use too.
Blooms and Gin Wednesday Recap
I had such a great time attending the Gin and Blooms event at White Dog. It was such a great event. I got there late because life of a Mom means there could be a delay. So with that being said, I enjoyed it. If you have never been to White Dog (any of their locations) you are missing out. Also keep in mind that they have brunch daily too. The Gin and Blooms event featured Gin from Botanist Gin. Lizzie’s Secret Garden provided the beautiful flowers. By the time I got there they were all gone. However, thanks to Michelle, the Som she made the best cocktail. I only needed one trust me it was official. Thanks to Jaimi and White Dog for having me.
Also can we get into this butternut squash. It’s Fall Soup season and if they ever make the big container of it I am going to definitely get some. Could I make it at home? Yes. Will I? Yes. Will it be the same? Only time will tell.
Blogs you May have Missed
We are back on a writing train. Also I have so much content lined up for the remainder of the year. FYI we celebrate 8 years of blogging so for those interested in the field I have blogs to help you get started. We are celebrating hard too with an event and I can’t wait. I am going to make it an annual celebration.

Mental Health and Fall Action Plan
I will have the review of The Glass Menagerie tomorrow. If you love theater as much as I do, this is a definite must see.
Welp that’s all for this cloudy/rainy Wednesday here in Philadelphia. I am looking forward to the weekend and pushing through tonight to go to the gym. My plans got a little moved around this morning. However like all things I will forever move ahead.
