The Fern and Fable restaurant located in Malvern; PA really is a hidden gem. Many influencers and bloggers use the term hidden gem so loosely. However, The Fern and Fable really is tucked away but packs such a powerful punch in the restaurant industry. The hospitality is unmatched with the most delicious food. In addition to great food, the vibes are amazing too.
Cocktails at The Fern and Fable
The team at The Fern and Fable are innovative when it comes to their cocktails. One thing I love about restaurants is when they think outside of the box. Updating your cocktail listing according to the seasons and the holidays is what keeps customers coming back. The Fern and Fable has done that. A lot of the cocktails sauces and ingredients are made in house. You can taste the difference. For instant, the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini, the chocolate liquor is made in house. I didn’t know and learned that Godiva’s liquor syrup is no longer sold. So, The Fern and Fable made their own. It is hands down delicious and a great dessert drink to end your meal.
Apple Cider Margarita
This drink is just what it says. You can taste the sweetness of the apple which we all know is in season now. Made with a cinnamon sugar rim it tastes like the best apple cider you have ever had.
Dirty S’more
This drink is by far my favorite. It is epic not just in looks but in taste. The Dirty S’more is a perfect holiday drink too whether for the fall or even Christmas holiday too. It tastes like a smore in a cup with an adult flare and its hot and makes you feel cozy. I went to The Fern and Fable with my girl, Elle of Sip on What and drinking this near the open fire just added an element of coziness.
Their Humble Beginnings also known as Appetizers
This starter dishes are anything but humble. The flavor offerings are out of this world delicious. What I love about their offerings is that they have something for everyone including vegan options. The option that I wanted to try was the butternut sage soup. I love butternut squash soup. This soup is an elevated experience for your palette. I enjoyed every slurp. Not only was it beautiful in its presentation which is always great, but it was hot and satisfying. I could have simply stopped with that as the offerings was full.
Arugula and citrus Autumn Salad
This salad is flavorful as well as colorful. I think my doctor would be proud of this salad. It has pickled shallots, blood orange supreme, pepita brittle, lemon, thyme vinaigrette, pomegranate pearls, and fennel fronds. This salad is a party in your mouth. If you love salads that have a heartiness this one, is it.
Mushroom Polenta
This dish can be made as a vegan option. It is made with roasted trumpet mushroom, garlic chips, butter beans, and carrot top gremolata. I enjoyed this so much. It was creamy and filling. If you love polenta this one is going to be highly impressive.
Red-wine braised Short Ribs
To all my meat eaters this is full of flavor as well. Tender, hot, and juicy these short ribs are one to order. It is served with herbed potato pave, baby brussel sprouts, creamy greens, confit shallots, and micro carrot. One of the things that I enjoyed about this dining experience was the care in the food, preparation and presentation. In addition, we were ablet to meet the Chef, Abigail Morris.
So now that you know about their offerings keep in mind that beyond a dining experience guest are invited to roast their own s’mores fireside. This truly is one of the most fun things to do in the fall. They also provide many dining experiences like margarita flight nights and more. Every Thursday guest can enjoy live music during the 6-8:30 dining experience. Reservations are highly suggested.
