Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Sunday. Let’s find a way to address our Sunday Scaries with a little rest and peace. It is a rainy day here and has been all weekend long. I encourage you to find some amazing indoor things to do. In addition to rainy moods and Sunday preparation, I encourage you to move past your Sunday Scaries with some rest and restful activities.

Sunday Scaries and A long List of To Dos-add Peace!

Every person would love to wake up with limited things to do. However, if you live a little you already know that it could be a limited possibility. So how do you work smarter and not harder? For me I enlists help with those around me. Having a family, I always wanted them to feel supported. I try my best not to call my kids to get every little thing. However, I do know that working together for a common ground is helpful in getting things done. So, with that I simply ask for what I need. This is in the form of asking which kid which one of them are taking on at least one challenge in the house. So far that has been helpful. I am not assigning too many chores. Everyone needs to know how to clean and pick up in all the areas of the community space in the home.

Even if you are single, I remember so many times I dropped the bag on help. Being prideful or having these hang ups that things had to be done a certain way has attributed to burn out. Something getting done is the goal. This mean I had to learn to be okay with allowing others to help.

Increase Rest Today

We all need rest. It can from sleeping in, a nap, allowing joy to be a guide, staying in pajamas all day and so much more. If you can’t let your mind race, ask yourself why? Everything isn’t going to be solution based. If you are trying to work your entire life in a day let me know when you do it. Most of us can’t turn our brains off. We do not allow enough balanced moments into our world. One day this week I was on my laptop. I had convinced myself that I had to get everything done to feel productive. You can be productive with one thing or all things. Choose to get the most that you can and the things that aren’t done will get there eventually.

What is your Nighttime Routine?

We do stress how important to setting your day is but there is power in a nighttime routine. All the things you are doing to start can be increased with your nighttime routine. For instance, during the school year, my kids showers, laying out uniforms, pack lunches, and have down time every night. What do adults do that help them prepare for the next day? Is it meal prepping, journaling, setting a bedtime, packing lunches, getting clothes out, or sticking to your facial regimen not a part of your nighttime routine? I like to find quiet time before bed. My newest thing is to have the kitchen cleaned by the time they go to bed. I hate the notion that the kids are done so now I can do more “work.”

peace

When the kids go down and all things are done, how can I serve my needs? Do I need to enjoy a glass of wine, read, take a bubble bath, go to bed, or simply relax? Do those things. You are deserving of peace. Create peace in your home. One thing that should be an oasis is your home. Not everyone lives in aesthetically pleasing spaces.

Create your Own Peace Space

However, you can create the type of peace that gives you strength for life no matter what you have or don’t have. When my mom, twin, and I lived in a shelter my mom taught us that where you live is what you make of it. She also stated that you do not have to look like where you come from. That principle helped me to create spaces around me that suited my mental and emotional needs. I can create joy, peace, and understanding even in the most stressful days or moments. Now with therapy I can add more tools to the list to ensure that if I need rest, I gift myself rest to my mind first. That lesson helped me to live in demanding situation and learn to let some things go even when my address hadn’t changed. Increase peace today-happy Sunday.
