If you’re from or near Pennsylvania you have heard of Peddler’s Village. It’s a beautiful shopping village that is part charm and part adventure. So what is it like staying at the Golden Plough Inn and more?
Fall Vibes happening at Peddler’s Village
This weekend is their annual Apple Festival. That means you can enjoy many Apple dishes, treats and more. It’s free to enjoy but food and drinks are pay as you go. There’s a plethora of activities as well. It’s a great time to get out and really enjoy your time. If you are stopping by any of the dining facilities such as Buttonwood Grill I would highly recommend that you make a reservation. In addition parking will be super tight.
Shops to Consider
If you stay at the Golden Plough Inn you will have access to buy one glass of wine and get another at the infamous Nissley Vineyards located next door. If you love wine as much as I do this is your one shop stop! They have wine slushes, wine bottles, flights, and cans of wine too. I was supper impressed with their selection!
Also the holidays are coming so grabbing a few bottles is key. These make great hosting gifts. So grab more than you think you will need. They also have a brand new wine called Firefly which is a sparkling wine. This would make a great New Year wine for your midnight cheers!
The Soap Opera
This is one great smelling location. It has your hand soaps, bath salts and bombs, shower tablets and more. I purchased a room spray that smells absolutely amazing. It’s so many selections inside that you will definitely struggle with what to buy. Support these business owners means you are putting money back into their families. With the holidays I recommend this for all of your self care enthusiasts.
For instance I personally use shower tablets as a daily routine. Even with such an active lifestyle taking those moments in the shower and letting the smells over you puts an extra pep in my step. Also the person behind the counter the day I went was super helpful. I often love not making any announcements of why I’m there etc to get a general sense of customer service. The Soap Opera passed with flying colors.
Earl’s New American
This is one amazing restaurant for many reasons. First of all the actual decor is delightful. The ambiance when I arrived for dinner was breathtaking for such a random night. When I arrived it was just me and I requested to sit by the window. I like to look out and people watch. The food however was its own character.
I started with Prosecco, She-Crab Bisque, Lobster dumplings, Pan-Seared salmon, and for dessert, Pear Bread Pudding. Nothing that I had was mediocre. Full of flavor and served in the perfect cadence made for such a great dining experience. Lastly one of my favorite cocktails, Pear Tree.
Buttonwood Grill
Before leaving I ate at one of the places I eat every single time and that’s Buttonwood Grill. They had some early apple specials. I started off with the Green Apple Sangria, Harvest Apple burger with waffle sweet potato fries, and an Apple Crumb Cake. The service whether I go alone, with friends, or with my family has stayed consistent.
With as much foot traffic that Peddler’s Village gets make sure you make a reservation.
Staycation Overhaul
The purpose of a staycation is all about a reset. I take one usually at the beginning of Fall and one right before Christmas. This staycation was extra special. As I celebrate 10 years of writing it’s important for me to stay as grounded as possible. So while there I slept in, worked, and resifted my content to prepare for the end of the year.
In Peddler’s Village things like taking in the scenery, eating, shopping, and more makes me happy. It could be that I’m from Lancaster and it reminds me of home but either way it’s always a good time. Plus Peddler’s Village has great events.
Here’s a small amount of what to look for! Check out their site for more information.
- A night with Mrs. Claus
- Breakfast bingo
- Grand illumination Celebration
- Holiday Kick off weekend
- Gingerbread Competition Display
- Breakfast with Santa
Golden Plough Inn
I highly recommend booking their one bedroom suites. I stayed in it and it was rejuvenating. For one it’s split level. I enjoyed taking a soaking bath with the jacuzzi tub while the fireplace on. It’s super spacious. The living room is stunning and I was taken back for how glorious this property is. They also have other suites available and regular rooms.
This room made me feel like I was tucked away in my own personal sanctuary. I enjoyed the relaxing time and forever changed my view on what suites look like!
