Saw the Musical

Saw the Musical is a must see. If you love the movie this is your sign to go and see the show. From the music to the acting and everything else in between it’s hilarious. Who would have thought sawing your leg off could be so funny. It’s a refreshingly hilarious parody and you can’t let this end without seeing it.

Know Before you go to Saw the Musical

The show is about 2 hours long and no intermission. Get there on time. Parking is limited but if you get there in time, you should be okay. There is a parking lot across the street if you don’t want to look for street parking. If you need a bite to eat or a drink there are plenty of places to dine. I and my party went to Village Whiskey. You know how much I love a good cocktail. They have Happy Hour from 5-7 even on Sundays. I have dined there plenty of times before.

Limited Showing

Just in time for Halloween, Saw the musical is happening on a limited basis. This show will end on October 20, 2022. The show does keep in elements of the movie with blood and gore but not in the same light. I promise you if you were somehow scared of the original there is no way you would be scared of this version. It’s absolutely pokes fun at the parts that as an audience member we all did when seeing it.

Musical Numbers in Saw the Musical

The musical numbers have to be the best part. The ability to make a song about dying and possibly dying is hilarious at its inception. The profound ways in which they took these scenes and added such a light heartedness to the dark situation. I loved it. Like the numbers are super catchy too. Also as a Choir Director’s daughter and singer myself I loved the fact that the numbers weren’t just catchy but well thought out. The cast can really sing.

Why See- Saw the Musical?

Saw the Musical is a lot of fun and provides a great alternative or addition to the Halloween season. To be honest, it’s a wild card show in the season of shows I didn’t know I needed. It’s not as gory as the original movie but kept that element. I think I laughed at those moments more than anything else. Also fans of Saw will identify with it. For instance you don’t have to brush up on watching the original movie before. The musical will keep you entertained. The cast is witty in how they tell the story too. The scenes well thought out and absolutely perfect from start to finish. I didn’t leave feeling as it was too cheesy.

Saw the Musical

Suitability

I would say the show is suitable for an older teenager and up. Their is language that is not suitable for younger kids. The musical would attract the same set of people that the original movie would attract in my opinion. Keep that in mind when bringing others to the show. However even for me who isn’t a total scary movie goer I probably did better with this one for its comedic shops than anything.

A special thanks to Copper Jordan, the staff and artist of Saw the Musical, and my girls Brenda, Elle, Stephanie, and Jamie for such a great Sunday Funday. Get your tickets now. Don’t forget to get a picture at the end.
