If your or any of your loved ones love dinosaurs, you’re in luck-Big Time has them in all of their glory! Big Time is the Philadelphia’s newest exhibit in over a year!
Life Size Fun
I took my children when the pandemic was well in full swing to the Wells Fargo Center for Jurassic Quest. It was a drive through experience. Ever since that interaction my children have been committed to anything and everything about dinosaurs. Big Time takes that exhibit and flips it! We are talking about the ability to one get out and walk the exhibit.
Special Dinosaur Key
If you remember my blog on the Zoo Key, you know that the key helps to unlock the stories behind most of the animals at the Philadelphia Zoo. Now there’s a limited edition dinosaur key. This key pictured above in my son’s neck takes you back to Jurassic times. It gives you a in-depth listen to what it was like when dinosaurs roamed the earth! Children and adults of all ages love the ability to learn as they proceed! The stories are told in English and Spanish!
Social Distancing
The numbers of entrants will be capped to make sure that all are safe. There will be mask enforced as well. Also it allows everyone to be outside with good fresh air. Also Big Time is apart of the Zoo but it is an additional exhibit so you will need timed tickets to enter. Prices are:
General admission to the Zoo:
$24 for ages 12 and up
$19 for kids 2-11
Children under 2 are free
Big Time:
$6.00 for 2 years and up and for Members it’s $3.00
There is also hand sanitizer stations throughout the entire Zoo. It was the one and only activity we did last Summer and Fall for Halloween weekend!

Every person has to fill out the mandatory health screening!
Gift Shop
There is a separate gift shop for Big Time. It’s right outside of the exhibit. The prices are not bad. I was able to get my and the children something for under 100 including my niece who wasn’t in attendance. From little trinkets to binoculars as well as a coffee mug for myself. It was definitely worth it!
Zoo Etiquette
There are paw prints throughout to let you know to social distance. Also keep in mind, although there is plenty of space to walk around make sure you keep space. I know it’s easy to want to push ahead and see the animals, but watch your spacing. Also encourage your children to do the same. In order for all of us to enjoy the Zoo we need to play by the rules.
Food Trucks
You can bring food into the Zoo if you would like. Your bags as always will be checked upon entry. I usually like to bring water even if I plan to eat at the Zoo. Make sure you have exact cash although the use of cards is highly encouraged. Spacing at the tables is make distinctively to ensure spacing. While eating you may remove your mask. Otherwise keep your mask on at all times.
Media Preview
I took the kids for the media preview. Media preview or not we still had the same rules as everyone else. We were met with goodie bags which had the most amazing items such as a mask and a specially made cookie to commemorate the occasion!
Is it Worth the Hype?
Absolutely! Big Time is a ball of fun! My kids had smiles on their faces the ENTIRE time. They talked about it every day since. From asking me if we are going back (which is a big YES) to still actively playing with their items. It’s the best fun a parent can get! Oh and I love the Zoo. I was glad to see the otters in the Water Habitat was open. The last two times they were closed.
