There is a winery here in Pennsylvania about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia called Penns Woods Winery. Today is National White Wine day. A day to indulge in white wine or learn about the white wines that you have been wanting to try. I am a wine girl. If there is wine, pour me a glass. I went to Penns Woods with my girl, Elle to celebrate her impending nuptials and take a tour. I was immediately impressed.
Tasting Room at Penns Woods
I highly suggest that you make a reservation. When we went this past Sunday the mood was pretty chill. It was a hot day but it was perfect for such a great Sunday Funday filled with wine. We were immediately greeted with smiles. Remember even though I scheduled our time ahead of time, I judge every location I go to off of immediate greetings. I also was greeted warmly before I said who I was. I say this because people will say to me, that I get great service because they know who I am. This was not the case. There was a couple ahead of me and they received the same warm greeting as I.
Reservations at Penns Woods Winery
Although the tasting room is open from 12-6 Monday through Friday and don’t require a reservation, Saturday and Sunday are by appointment ONLY. This doesn’t mean that you can’t visit and simply come and drink the wines available without one. It just means if you want to come to the tasting room you will need one. I highly suggest a reservation for the Tasting Room as for $18 per person you get to taste 5 wines. The wines are delicious and depending on what you like it can help guide your drinking for the remainder of the time. The Tasting Room is beautiful.
Vineyards at Penns Woods Winery
We had an amazing time learning about the way Penns Woods Winery keeps their vineyards up. From making sure they protect the grapes that are susceptible to birds and more. The entire winery sits on 30 acres. That is a lot of space to do so much. On Sunday they had live music, plenty places to sit and have wine and bites as well. You can purchase cheeses, meats, and more to create a charcuterie board. It really has so much to be versatility according to the goals you have for your visit. For instance we were celebrating Elle’s impending shower. We found a space off to ourselves. We took our time since we weren’t in a rush and actually tapped some content that I can’t wait to share soon.
Being able to drink, talk about the wedding, marriage and really enjoy some girl talk meant the most. The winery is beautiful.
