Okay Barbie Let’s Go Party. The New Barbie movie is out and it’s not to be missed. Be clear that this movie is for all even though who disliked Barbie. You will find amazing messaging as well as nostalgia moments. The movie is moving and opens a lot of discussion on what Barbie was meant to do and what happened to the Barbie phenomenon.
What to Know before you Go
Regardless of where you see Barbie you may want to get your tickets ahead of time. This movie is going to splash pink in a large way. Is the movie for children? I would say there are moments of word choice and a few sexual tones that in my opinion kids wouldn’t directly pick up on. You must make the decision that is best for you. As a parent I tend to view movies and shows that I can before I let my younger kids view them. It is fine for those kids ages 13 and up. In addition, arrive at your theatre early as many especially for opening week will have photo props and more goodies available. The movie runs about a little under 2 hours and is the perfect timing.
Barbie Fun
The movie brings out all the fun. A special thank you to Warner Bros whom I partner with for all of the goodies that were sent or given. It’s been a long time since I have smiled this much at a premiere as I have for this. I went to a Barbie popup a day before I saw the movie and extreme excitement. Also I haven’t worn this much pink in such a long time but it was a warm welcome to my closet. The way that restaurants have used this as a great pop up and money maker doesn’t make me mad. All I am going to say is that if you are going to do a Barbie popup do it well. I don’t want to see one drink of pink alone. I want to see all of the energy that is this movie.
Is Barbie the Movie worth the Hype?
Absolutely. I honestly wanted to believe that the movie would be just a Barbie fandom alone. However, I learned, screamed, clapped, and was engulfed into the movie from the start. This movie was a walk-in history. As a mother there is a part in there that will make you immediately swoon. Finally, we got the shine that we needed. Barbie the Movie was well versed. It made me proud. I took the kids l and they loved it. I will say a lot of the things that parents worry about them getting went over their heads. We explained a lot in the car but from perspective they enjoyed it.
Blondie Philly Pop Up
As I stated there will be a lot of popups will come from this movie. One popup that I must say is worth its weight in gold is the one at Blondie. This is in Manayunk. It is worth the go. You must make reservations but don’t miss out on it. The drinks were delicious. Noting was watered down. Pink in them was stunning and I must say they taste well. The food is delicious too. There were many options. Plus Blondie is honestly a great place for all kinds of good food and vibes. I have been there at least 2-3 times now and not one time have I ever left upset about my options that were given to me.
One of the observations that I made while there was that the staff are all hands on. There was a manager that is there every time I am there. Her smile is infectious. She is just wonderful. The only issue I have is that I didn’t ger her name. Wonderful, approachable and accommodating. It has been extended until August 9th!

Chevrolet, General Motors and Barbie
Of course, the iconic pink Chevrolet Corvette is featured. This car has been one of the prominent cars that all ages have enjoyed seeing Barbie ride. I remember as a child wanted the Barbie car because how else was Barbie supposed to get around. You will see this car in the movie. In addition, there is the GMC Hummer EV and the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS is one of those cars that makes a splash on the big screen, and I must admit I need to try. The way it is used makes it look like part family car and part sports car. The car has throttle. So, I expect this car and all of the GM cars to make their waves in a few pressing weeks. Way to go General Motors-we love to see it.
One thing you can rely on with GM is their innovative spirit along with the upmost quality on standard. The time for electric cars is now as they drive the world forward, together. Everybody in! My husband shouted as soon as we seen the car, “I see you Chev!” as everyone clapped.
Go and see Barbie and see what your thoughts are. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Like most of us who saw it the first time are already planning to go back again. Ok, Barbie Let’s Go Party!
