Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy October. A new month is upon us. With that being said there are a few things to keep in mind. New months should excite you. Whatever and wherever you feel as if you have dishonored yourself last month is a great way to start a fresh this month. So, here’s to a great month of mystery and victories.

October Blessings

I know a lot of people start to look for ways to be grateful only in November but having gratitude is a lifestyle. So many times,we don’t do our part to walk in the gratitude so here are some ways to do just that. Start with a gratitude journal. These are the things that you can write down that you are grateful for. In a way to not be repetitive keep in mind that writing down new things will help.

For instance, instead of the same thing of being grateful for your family (which you should be) try thinking in your day some of the ways you were successful. It could be waking up on time for work, someone paying for your lunch, and more. So yes, it’s a good time to be grateful.

Philadelphia October Events

There are a lot of things you can do in or around Philadelphia. For instance, Halloween Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary. Here are a few others:

A Mental Health for October

I am encouraging everyone who knows or suspects that they are dealing with mental health to make an appointment with your family doctor. If you are working, I want you to contact your job’s EAP and make an appointment to get therapy. The worse but best months are ahead. I want you to get ahead of your thoughts and feelings.

Thanksgiving and Christmas bring such joy however can be a great sense of pain for many. From death to not having enough money to make the holidays what you want can be damaging. So, get ahead of it.

Things that you should consider when it comes to Fall self-care gadgets can help. Also, things like my weighted blanket, light therapy lamp, and more help me to get rest and renew daily.

Preparing for the Holidays

I want us to work smarter not harder. Go and shop your house before you buy anything else. If you can make sure that you make a budget. Spending is about to go through the roof. From dinners, holidays gatherings, or holiday and gift shopping. Bring some of that energy back. For me I buy for my whole side of the family.

This means my extended family and the ones in my house. I do all the kids, my husband, and my nieces. For the adults we pull names and move along. I do still get for my twin. She is a single mom, and I will always make sure she is good. We exchange sizes for the kids, get them something to wear, play, and read. It makes it easy for us to focus on what the kids need or want. For my shopping I make sure all the nieces have the same equal number of gifts plus a stocking for them to have little things like trinkets and beauty products. Do what is best for you and your pockets.

Welcome October with all the love and gratitude you can hold. May this month prepare you for all the good that is to come.

Pennsylvania Election Dates to be Mindful

A few key things with the elections here in the US but specifically of Pennsylvania:

• October 21 is the last day to register before the election

• Did you know? October 29, 2024, is the last day for your Mail in ballot or absentee ballot to be received

• November 5 is the election-no postmarked ballots of November 5th can be received after the date (turn It in by the 29th in my opinion to make sure it counts)
