Mother’s Day Gift Giving Guide with Purpose

Everyone and their mom is going to want a nice gift for Mothers Day. A day set aside to shower your mom with all of the things to say thank you is not enough. However many will attempt to try their hand in making Mother’s Day as special as she’s been. Gift giving especially to your favorite woman can be daunting. Gift Giving Challenges

One of the ways in which to give your mom a good gift is simply knowing what she likes. What does mom indulge in the most. Is the gadget queen? Is she the luxury goddess? This is the time to tap into that part of your mom she loves and may neglect. As much as I shop I too tend to focus on the children a lot more. So this is the time to let her know you see and hear her.

So what type of mom you have makes a difference. Knowing your mom makes it easier to cut down the guess work on the direction on where you should be headed. Make sure you’re not getting her something that will collect dust. For instance, my mom says she loves those gift baskets that has the bath bombs, etc. in them but I recently found out that she actually collects them and they aren’t being used. To my siblings, don’t get her another one of them.

Tech Moms

This is the mom who embraces all things technological. She’s not the one who is calling you asking what is an email? She has one, uses it well, and is always on the hunt for the next thing. Your mom believes gadgets help her live a better life. She want or already has a new gadget even before you or is constantly asking you if you have heard about one. She not only will use it but doesn’t necessarily need you to set it up for her. Focus on tech gadgets from the kitchen, to the bedroom, and for personal use. Self Care Moms

This is the mom who is all about her bath and shower time. She’s not using a regular soap or lotion. She using some moisturizing body balms. She cares about herself and makes sure dives into her self care daily. This is the mom what welcomes a gift basket of smell goods but also likes luxurious smelling fragrances. She is the mom who will hang up the phone to get to her mani/pedi appointment shamelessly. So here are some gift suggestions you may want to bestow on this type of momma! Organizer Moms

I am that momma. You’re mom may be like me and need a container for a container. I love things in there place and space. I however live with my husband who is the complete opposite. So for the mom who is like me and loves a little organization, I have covered. You want to make sure that what you give her looks pleasant and presentable. So this means wrap a bow around it. Moms love effort. So you need to make sure that you come correct. Don’t just come with a basket, make it count! Also make sure you pitch around the house too. Moms are not against a month of house cleaning. Get mom that maid. Vet them if you get them from an organization. Make sure they are insured and also make sure they follow all Covid protocols. Flower Momma

Always remember mom may want a nice bouquet of flowers or an amazing plant too. Make sure if that is your mom that you indulge her. Did you know that there are flower companies that will allow you to send mom flowers every month? Yes. You can make mom smile not just one day but for every month. Moms love to get packages so this is a great way to keep mom happy. Also if you’re able to see mom, grab some fresh flowers and take them to her. Nothing is better than an in-person flower bouquet. Don’t Forget the Power of Card

I know how monetized the holiday can be. Many don’t feel that it takes all of that to express yourself. As a mom I agree to a certain extent. Moms don’t mom to get things in return. They do it because they have all of the love in the world to give. Nothing and I mean nothing is wrong with giving your mom a card from the heart. A simple and sincere thank you and I love you makes a mom’s whole heart leap. When I do the small things or the things I am required to do for my children, a thank you makes the difference. This is a great way to do something nice for the mother who indulges in drinks. Try gifting your mom a cocktail class or even a wine pairing class. Also get your mom a new charcuterie board.
