Voting anxiety is real! It’s not really the actual vote but more everything that leads up to it. The text messages that are being sent, the random knocks of those pushing their party, the commercials, radio announcements, and television ads push people on the edge. You log on and here is another message about who you should vote for and why.
Increased Availability
Long gone are the days when the only way you got the news was through a newspaper clipping. Now with the internet you can get your news quicker than your breast cancer screening results. It’s true. Social media has increased us getting all kinds of agendas being pushed. It’s a blessing and some would say a curse as well. Having to filter or knowing how to filter information is key. But is too much information bad?
Core Values
You have to ask yourself instead of debating which candidate aligns with your core values. It’s that simple. I know people are saying that neither one aligns and I can understand it. However at the end of the day, one of them aligns more than another. Both have their issues if I’m honest. The pain and strain that I’m seeing with both sides, is disheartening. So figure out who you align with and make the best decision for yourself, family, and future.
Be Watchful
Tomorrow will come with its challenges. In Philly I’ve seen an increased of police at the polls which I love to see. For one I know there were many who would love to try to discourage people to vote. Make sure you keep your eyes and ears open. This is the time to be vigilant. I know it sounds scary but with the increased acts of violence and fear tactics we have to be able to be watchful.
Disconnect
I will be having a large portion of the day disconnected. I’ve already pre-populated posts ahead. So if you’re on my Facebook page for Toitime the page is set for all things voting resources! I’ve kept my page for resources and not a place for arguments or debates. I like to keep space for myself and my followers as a stress less space for all. So go and if you want resources like free rides for tomorrow, food at the polls, etc go there! Disconnecting is serious.
Plan and Have a Plan
Tomorrow having a plan is super important. This may be the day for you to order out and support local restaurants. This may be the day to make sure you have the following:
- Charged phone
- Back up charger
- Portable chair in case lines are long
- Snacks
- Exit plan from polling location
- Wear a mask
- Social distance
- Bring hand sanitizer

Lyft Discount
Lyft knows one of the issues with voting in person is getting to the polls. So I need you to utilize the discount from Lyft-50% off using code 2020VOTE and this is a ride to the polling location or drop off box too for those who still need to drop off their ballots! Get more information here!
UBER
Uber is doing their part as well. Offering $7 off for each ride to and from their polling or drop off box. You must use the polling locator in the app to use the discount on Tuesday! You will also see food trucks with free food to ensure that hunger isn’t an issue for many voters! For more information click here!
Fuel the Vote!
Several restaurants here in Philly will be doing their part to feed the city! That means you will get free food to ensure that you’re not hungry! I love this and not just because I like to eat! It’s more or less so people have one less worry! So at several satellite voting locations there will be food on hand. For more information click here!

Keep in mind that it’s now important NOT to mail in your ballot! Drop it off at a drop off location! You can drop it off and today Monday November 2, 2020 you can drive your ballot off at Lincoln Financial Field!
