If you’re anything like me who sometimes dreads that first step when doing anything new you know that it’s hard to take that first step! So much uncertainty that comes from the unknown. What I also know is that I’m willing to show up for myself.
Show UP
I’ve been blessed to be at the right place at the right time. It’s important to be clear that often times showing up is key! You can’t even get a NO if you don’t show up! How you take care of supporting yourself is so important. Sometimes we want more support from outsiders that we are unwilling to do for ourselves! So why aren’t you showing up! Is it fear?
Bring Fear Along
Growing up in church all of my life I was always told how fear had no place in our life. I believe that. I also believe that fear can be a motivator. Fear sometimes has to come along for the journey until it drops off! So yes that means I’m going afraid sometimes! Fear is tagging along. When I spoke at the BlogHer Creators Summit I wasn’t necessarily afraid until I saw the red blinking light! I knew the assignment was to motivate. The skills were there so I took fear along until after my first word, it dropped. I was made for that moment. The only thing I needed to do was show up!
Anxiety Stops
I would be lying if anxiety isn’t present from time to time. I can have a trigger of anxiety at a moment’s notice. Recognizing triggers helps the big overflow of anxiety. When I’m not aware of myself it’s a great thing to have a plan in place. I can’t Monday, live, or love without anxiety attempting to rear itself in my life. I’ve had to take a break but quitting isn’t an option. See my Twitter for more.
You’re the One
Do you know how saturated the blogging world is? Super concentrated. What I know is this, I’m the only one who can tell my story. I’m the only one who can say it like it needs to be said. I’m the one that is the neon sign in the room. I own it! You’re the one! The people need you. They want to hear from. Its not about the crowd or the size or the credentials. Show up!
Too Small?
In my field of blogging and influencing so much is about numbers. How many followers? Likes? Comments? How do I deal? Be consistent. Be true. Realize who’s in the room and only focus on how to get to the mover and shaker instead of the folks taking pictures. This is key especially as life opens up! Do you know I’ve gone to conferences where celebrities were and focused more on the brand presidents than the celebrity endorser? The celebrity already has his or her coin. I got to get mine. I’m not too small and I don’t allow that train of thought to stop me!
Monday Scaries
Maybe all of this is too much and you haven’t had your coffee. Take a sip and get motivated. We have a whole world waiting on us show up! Show up even when everyone doubts you! Come prepared with all that you need to make it happen! I’ve been counted out before! It sucks. I won’t be the one who lets me down! I can bet on me! I’m more than willing to get up! So show up this Monday! You got work to do!
Have an amazing Monday! Stay hydrated! Get prepared. Align your tools that you need and make it happen!
