Happy Monday! Did you catch Sunday’s blog on National Happiness Happens Day? If you didn’t, make sure to check it out! Today being a Monday we all know how Mondays pan out? The beginning of the week where we need to focus our interest the most. It can be a little difficult to jump back in the weekly flow so here are some simple ways of starting fresh!
What is Your Priority?
Ask yourself that question! What are you looking to accomplish this week? That will align your goals and give you clarity. It doesn’t matter how big or small that goal may be either. Goals are the way to dive into your day! Some people struggle with goals so let’s start out by focusing on the outcome of the day! Working backwards is another way to set the priority!
Moving Past Failure
You will not be able to set a new goal or start fresh if your mind is on your failure. I’ve been there too where I’ve been consumed with failure. It’s not a great place to be in. I always encourage you to set a deadline on how long you grieve what you feel you weren’t able to accomplish. After that time is over, it’s time to get back to business. This is coming from someone who was told no a million times, been broke and broken, and also felt like everyone was winning while I was in an permanent losing streak! You have to move past the failure of yesterday, last month, or even years.
Fresh Perspective Comes From Change
Maybe the environment you’re in hasn’t changed. For example I wanted to leave a horrible job before but there was no other job in sight. The feelings of inadequacy crept in every morning I reported for work. When I changed my perspective of seeing that one I had a job that handled my lifestyle and two I was building a bank of experience that would propel me to my dream position, it may it easier to focus. This made me want to come in and work that current job like it was my dream job! I crushed that job with everything I had. When I finally landed the dream job, it felt earned. When I couldn’t change my job I had to change myself.
Handling Responsibilities
It’s easy to handle things when life is aligned the way you want. Sometimes fresh starts come from knowing we are handling our responsibilities and being where we need to be when we need to be there! It’s not always glamorous. That fresh start may look like doing the things we don’t want first so we can have more time to do and receive what we do want in other aspects of life.
Making A List
People underestimate the need of organizing. It’s not for everyone to make a to do list but it should be in everyone’s best interest to be aware of what’s needing to be completed. If you’re fresh start needs a list, so be it. How are you working smarter? If you’re struggling here are some suggestions:
- Meal prep
- Journaling first thing in the morning
- Prayer/meditation
- Receiving/Asking for help
- Delegating responsibilities when needed
- Taking a break
- Setting boundaries when necessary
- Outsourcing
- Moving when it’s needed
- Listening instead of over sharing
Spruce up the Environment
Never underestimate a bouquet of flowers, a new hair cut, a new coffee mug, etc. can do! Sometimes you can do little things to give yourself a fresh start. I’ve started a new Monday with a new lipstick. It’s the little things that mean the world. Fresh starts require little sparks that ignite overall accomplishments.
Fresh starts come from new mindsets. If you keep waking up on Mondays dreading it, what are you willing to change to wake up ready to crush it? If you’re blessed enough to wake up, you owe yourself a fresh start of not wasting your moment. Conquer every moment possible! Shake yourself, check your emotions, change your environment, and let’s take on this day! Mondays are for the taking even if we aren’t fully sure how to attack it. We will focus on every goal until we work smarter for the life we imagined!
