Monday to do list

Last Monday we talked about setting boundaries. If you are able go back and read that blog and get a refresher. This week we are getting with the basics of what Monday Motivation is all about. We are here to motivate you to take charge of yourself and what you want to accomplish during the week. So let’s do a refresher on ways to stay focused.

Monday Slump

Those Mondays hit hard when you have had a great weekend. When it’s time to get back to the drawing board of a traditional work week the Monday Blues hit pretty hard. Managing life and goals can be difficult if you woke up this morning feeling overly tired as well as defeated. I have had many Mondays like this. You wake up with the best intentions but it doesn’t work out. Your lack of motivation is strong. So how do you focus? It’s easy to want to throw the towel in before it begins. I cover what to do when you are feeling unmotivated. Read that and come back.

Controlling Only You

In an ideal world we would be able to control all of the players of life. We all know that its impossible to make others do what you want. However you can use that energy into what you need to do. This means you could have a Co-worker who doesn’t pull her end of the bargain. Be prepared for a plan that works for you. This means that you can’t always cover them. Think about the frustrations this causes. How can you guard your heart and mind so you aren’t going home warn down? Add into your day the things you need like a break, self care, taking a walk, keeping yourself hydrated, and more.

Starting the Day Right or Resetting

I believe in resets. Resets are ways to restart your mindset when it’s not aligned to where you want to be. If you woke up on the “wrong side of the bed” it’s time to reset. It takes more energy sometimes to stay in a negative mindset than to shift it. Why spend the morning still stewing over a car that cut you off? The way life is set up, that energy only increases and in the wrong way. So take control of you. Control your mind and thoughts. If you are still in bed reading this-no judgement. You could have a later start, work from home, on vacation, or more. Start your day off right. Did you pray or meditate? Start with movement? Eat something that is going to fill you up in the best ways? Start your morning with water? Stretch?

The Dreaded To Do List

I believe in lists. I use my phone and a planner. These help me focus my thoughts. The list is there as a tool. I may when motivated start the things I don’t like so I can enjoy the things I do last. When I am unmotivated I may start with things that I love or is the easiest. This way I can feed off that energy and keep hitting the goals. There is no wrong or right way. What does matter is getting your tasks completed. People talk about having the same hours in a day that Beyonce has but the reality we don’t have anyone else but us. Make your day go smoother by incorporating some things to help. Work smarter and not harder. For instance if an app gives you help-use it.

Monday Mantra

What Monday Mantra are you starting with today? Is it I can do all things? Is it I have more than I need and resources flow through me? Whatever they are say them. If you are going to speak something into your Monday let it be good? Make sure that you don’t neglect yourself in any way. I want to send good vibes your way. I pray your day is everything you need.
