Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

I know you know what has us all exhausted. We used to thrive on planners and to do list and some part of that maybe doesn’t feel like it would be fruitful. However how we prepare for our day matters.

Today is a bad day..

You have what you say! We have to do better with negative self talk. We don’t realize the impact it has. It doesn’t mean that bad things won’t happen but we don’t need an extra layer. The way Covid-19 has been in our lives we really need don’t need any added negativity. So stop saying you’re gonna have a bad day or that the day sucks. Don’t place that thought process in your mind and definitely don’t seal it with your words.

Wing It

It may work out due to so many people being home but honestly we have to do better at not winging it. This I’ll get it eventually mentality isn’t a good way to live. I mean the world is different so we can only be prepared for so much but we have to do our part to show up for ourselves in way that honors us daily. That feeling you get when you’re not prepared really isn’t a feeling anyone should get used to. So get what you can ready. For instance we are home working, I still get prepared for meetings and projects. I still have to make sure I have what I need ahead of time. We can’t get mad at someone who works smarter than us when they reap the benefits they do for their work ethic.

Balancing Act

It takes a lot of work to work out, work hard, drink your water, take your vitamins, eat a balanced meal, take care of your home, etc. it takes balancing life. This means that there will be good days as well as bad ones. There will be days where we are killing it and the other days where you feel like you’re not getting anything done. So we have to realize that and not put this pressure to be perfect. Everyday that we wake up is another opportunity to do better.

Grace

We forget that grace is always there to guide us. Grace shows up in times if not most times when we don’t deserve it. We haven’t always worked as hard as we should. We didn’t prepare. However grace isn’t in endless supply. We all have been in situations where we haven’t been what we needed to be but grace was there to carry us the rest of the way. It’s like a child in school who doesn’t study and somehow passes the test. It doesn’t mean that we should operate in not studying and preparing as a daily way of living. We still owe it to ourselves to do our part!

Show Up Daily

We have a responsibility to show up daily. Who do you think is going to do it? I think we can’t walk around in this misguided mindset that other people are the catalyst for our success. We are in need of coming together and showing all the way up! There are a lot of lows in life but we can’t allow the lows to to us from the highs! So with that in mind I’ve been doing what I can to be there for me. For me showing up is therapy, preparation, limiting conversations with people who will trigger me, taking breaks, getting rest, saying no, cutting alcohol intake, and being focused! I pray that whatever you need you show up for you in that request.

Today as we walk into this Monday we have to do what’s best for us. We have to show up, balance, walk in grace but prepare, and watch our negative self-talk! We got this! Let’s go crush it!
