Happy Monday. I hope today is the best that it can be for you and your goals. With that being said, as we progress into our Monday goals let’s talk about journal prompts. I am an avid journal writer. From using journals to help sorting out my feelings to using it as a way to motivate journaling has its place even in the busiest of lives. So how can you add journal prompts to your schedule.

Journaling for Monday Goals

It’s often said that goals that are written down and accompanied by a plan will get to fruition quicker than simply having an idea in your mind. How can you journal with your life on the go? One is to to use a journal app. There is indeed an app for anything. So if you are set on using an app, according to Zapier there is a list of journals that you can use that will get you to that goal. For instance each journal app is broken down by user experiences. From those who are writers to non writers alike. We are on our phones so much that we tend to forget they are useful tools. Be as meticulous as you need to be or wing it journaling your goals can be useful.

Journaling

For instance this past Sunday I took some deep prompts. I started with a topic on my heart lately. That topic was childhood triggers and how it related to my personal, marriage, and parenting. After I completed that prompt and did a mind dump, I was able to write my goals for the day. It took procrastination way so I could easily focus on getting to the gym.

Set a Week of Prompts

I have several notebooks and notepads. I used one to help me write out a week’s worth of prompts. For instance last week I kept a journal of issues that came up on my heart. Every struggle that I felt I had failed or needed more work on became a prompt for me to explore this week. So from why do I feel my husband sees me in a negative light which may or may not be true. However it is a way to mind dump all of the negative thoughts that I have about that topic. From there I can explore to what I hope to be more of a projection from some insecurity I am dealing with than the truth. These are the prompts that I have written out for one of the days this week.

Journaling for Self Care

From the above prompts that I shared although they are heavy in nature releasing some of those feelings are a form of selfcare. It’s helping me come to terms with my triggers and ways to better help me work through them. Also taking the time to be honest and being okay to having an honest conversation is a healthy way to live in general. I choose to start my Monday with the prompt of what makes me smile. This is simple on the surface but on days where I am so down that a smile seems impossible, will help me to go back and give my mind and soul a refresher course on getting back to me.

Journaling

As you continue to start your Monday, time will get tested. From waking up late, to managing drop offs, or heavy traffic patterns as you travel to your destination-take some time to add a journal prompt. Writing or at least making some written form of communication to yourself is helpful. I used the word mind dump and this is the concept that when you are overwhelmed about something, simply writing things out helps you release the stress that is behind it. If you are like me, I also add music while I do it when it’s feasible. Clearing your head so you can start your day is very common. As your day gets better in many ways, journal, practice self care, eat well, and keep yourself hydrated. Sending you great peace as you crush today’s goals.
