Happy Monday. It’s the first Monday of the year. Every Monday we try our best to come with some form of motivation that you need to set your week on fire. We are also doing a mid week check in for Wednesdays. The mid week check in is new for this year. Today as we start fresh for the week, month, and year, let’s use the energy to get us closer to your goals.
Write your Goals Down Monday Reset
This isn’t the first time you are hearing this. Writing down your goals helps you to visualize them. Most people do need a visual of where they want to go. So write down your goals. As you write down your goals remember to make a plan of attack. For example losing weight can be a goal that you want to accomplish. Are you looking to see weight loss in your clothes, on a scale or both? Write down the goal. Your plan of attack may be to schedule an appointment with your doctor and a Nutritionist. When I first began that journey having my doctor do a full metabolic blood work up helped. I was able to see what nutrients I was missing. This assisted me in my food selections. A Nutritionist helped me to get meal plans and ways to eat food in a healthier light. Both are effective.
Revisit How You Started Your Day
Often times Monday motivation is posted around 9am. Most people are already at work or have started their day. When you get a chance see how you started your day? Did you go to you phone as you woke up? If so what did you look at? Social media, news, gossip pages. How you start your day matters. Try to not get on your phone first thing unless you are using it to mediate with apps like Calm, listening to a podcast, or using it for music. What you entertain while you start your day matters. So be mindful. Spend time enjoying some quietness. For those who have children like I do, set your alarm 15 or so minutes earlier. I enjoy getting up before everyone else in my home gets up. Set your intentions.
Success All Around You
If you want to be successful set up your environment to be successful. Clean out your cabinets, pantry, home, bedroom, etc. Your environment matters. Clean up your act. Get rid of the very things that don’ suit you. Decide this week to clear out your world. Get rid of the clutter. Clutter comes in various forms. When you environment is cluttered it is a manifestation of your world. Take small steps to give yourself a chance to be better this year. I personally can’t create unless my space is clean. So when I go to be in my blogging world, my house gets cleaned up before I indulge. Be mindful how important this is.
Monday Strength
Some Mondays are easier than most. This Monday may be the first time you have been at work or back in school in a little while. If this your first Monday back think about what worked this morning. Did you have you clothes set out, breakfast premade, lunch arranged, and meals ready? Was that helpful. Maybe your Monday was the opposite of ready. What can you do better tomorrow? Do that. It’s nothing wrong with starting off wrong if you plan to use that energy to make your tomorrow better. Maybe you needed an extra shot of espresso to get through-it doesn’t mean that your day will be shot. Make the best of your day by resetting.
Planner or Not
You don’t have to be a planner to live a planner life. Some people use a planner not to make and articulate every plan for their lives. Some people use it to be organized. There is a planner for everything. For me I need one that is big. I have my cellphone but I need to write things down. Some people use their planner to write down words to describe how they feel in a moment. This helps them not to say those words out loud if they are at work or a meeting. Use the space as you need to.
As we hit our Monday goals, remember to take a deep breath. The first Monday of the year will come with its challenges. Kids are going back to school as some adults have had an extended holiday break. Your day may not have started on the right footing. Use what went wrong to correct it for tomorrow. You got this. All of your goals won’t be completed overnight.
