Happy Monday. I missed a Monday motivation last week. The first in years. However with the amount of crazy happening in life, it was imperative that I take that break. Spring break was really having me completely overwhelmed. I didn’t even realize until I was deep into it. So for this week although I am dealing with a personal issue I am managing my stress levels better.
Monday Mantra
What is your Monday mantra? If you are unfamiliar with mantra they are like your mission statement for the day. So be clear on what you want your mantra to say. Don’t do the general “I am going to have a good day.” Think about what your good day means to you and how worthy of a good day you are. This can be a hard thing to do when and if you think about stress. When stress increases your ability to see things in a positive light diminishes greatly. Remind yourself that the stress is real. Since it is real, solutions are just as real. As I am writing this, my mind has gone into the multiple solutions.
Solutions vs. Self Care
Solutions aren’t always easy at times. For instance, if your solution is to get more money to resolve a money crisis, that solution doesn’t work. It would mean that you would have to be in a situation to have access and that may not be where you are. Think of solutions in the manner of what you can do to help ease the initial hit of the stress. An example is to do self care, therapy, call a friend, take care of yourself, enjoy a favorite beverage, and more. There are small things we can do daily until we are able to make a permanent solution. One of the first things to go is our ability to take care of us. We are too stress to eat, drink, do our normal routine, and more.
Losing Ourselves in the Process
You ever lose yourself? I mean you let things go that you would normally take care of. It start with our physical and moves to our emotional and mental health. You may find that you aren’t as interested in you normal activities that once gave you joy. This is what people do as they go through depression. It starts off as something small and builds upon it. You go from being you normal joyful self and find yourself in a dark cloud. The dark cloud often is deemed to be just apart of life. You think it will go away on its own until it doesn’t.
Monday Reset
I have been a firm believer of a reset. Sometimes we think if you failed at something you will just wait until. For instance in losing weight and becoming healthier. Just because you ate something you swore off, you can reset immediately. You don’t have to wait for something to happen or a moment of doing better to happen before you reset. You tell yourself that you enjoyed something you love and you will be a better substitute for it next time.
As we reset from the weekend-t may have been full of great moments. Resetting is allowing the flow of joy move into your work week. So maybe you start off with your favorite coffee or drink. You add some time to add in physical activity because you may have enjoyed being sedentary all weekend long. Or maybe you simply plan to cook a meal you have been craving. You can add in some levels of joy to reset without guilt.
So here’s to my Monday Mantra:
I have an abundance of resources that will supply every need. For all I have on my plate has been conquered in a way that brings me success in every area.

So again I want you to encourage you to start your Monday with intentions. As you see I made a little category for everything I needed to start my day. So from what I am listening to, eat, movement, and more. Add more categories that you need too. Just be clear on how you want the day to begin. The trials of the day will be what it will be, don’t let it stop you from making the best of it. Happy Monday.
