It’s been a minute since I’ve done a Monday motivation. However as many of us know what to do, what can cause a Monday motivation fail? In this blog we will discuss how to turn failures into success and plan a week of greatness.
What is a Monday motivation fail?
A Monday motivation fail is when you either don’t have a plan for success or you have one but don’t have plan to make your plan work. No plan is not a plan. Simply knowing where to be like your work schedule and more is not enough of a plan. Those are obligations of where to be. If you have a plan of what you need but no plan to make it happen this is the second fail.
For instance you know you need to pack lunches at night but haven’t checked to see what you need or don’t need is again a failed plan. The goal to packing lunches or even breakfast at night is to have the ingredients needed. In my house I do my shopping list to support what we need so that we don’t find ourselves lacking. So this is why we make lists after we checked what is in the house.
Mondays are the hardest to get back to the grind. I know things will happen outside of my control so I do my best to be prepared for the things I can.
Monday Effective Planning
For instance I rely heavily on my planner. With the planner I look at all angles for the week. Are there appointments? Media events? Kids sports or play dates? All of this is taken into consideration. My schedule personally is so tight that I have to be on point. It becomes a necessity to ensure that I have things ready to go. Here is a real life example. My son just got 2 games added to the schedule. Both of these just so happen to be on evenings I don’t have media events.
I had a plan in place but had to adjust for the new added games. In order to have things prepared, I now have to have dinner packed and ready to go because I can’t afford to have my son late because he hasn’t eaten.
Turning failures into successes
Maybe you spent your Sunday brunching, relaxing, doing laundry, watching sports and now that Monday is here it’s too late to prepare. That’s not true. You can always recover your week at any given point. I know that even a well planned week can go left. So what I do is look at any places to adjust. How do you turn a failure into success?
Not let the failure make you live in defeat. It’s okay to feel bad about missed opportunities. The biggest missed opportunity is not knowing how to adjust. I learned this being a stay at home mom. As I matriculated back into the working world after being at home for so long I didn’t have the time to wallow. Too many people were depending on me to adjust and show up.
A great week of Greatness
So here’s a few pointers for a great week. Most of the things that we do starts with our mindset. Last week I felt energized. This week I already feel sluggish because life is catching up to me. However one thing that I plan to do is to take more deep breaths. I’m learning how to manage my emotions. That within itself will help me while I crush my goals.
The world doesn’t need me to show up defeated. So little things like writing out my thoughts, taking a break when I can, asking AND accepting help will be keys to success. You don’t have to be the leader of the success in order to enjoy it. Think about football. There’s many players on the team but if they work together they all can enjoy the success of a win. It doesn’t matter what position you play just be willing to do the work and adjust where necessary!
So as you start your week maybe you didn’t pack your breakfast? Can you grab a healthy option near you? If you’re on team save money then get what you need to make your money last longer? The cost in one meal could be the ingredients for something else. Missed some gym days last week? That’s okay! Make it a plan and set your items out or pack them and do your best this week. Either way no matter the goal-make a plan, prepare for what you can and crush it! You got this! Happy Monday!
