Happy Monday! Today is back to the grind for our house! Back to school and back to work we go! So how did I prepare for it to alleviate the Monday Blues? We incorporate music, preparedness, and time to adjust back into the grind.
Prepare
So instead of waiting until the last minute, I completed laundry and set all of the uniforms out. Yes our children have to still wear full uniforms even with virtual learning. I made sure I charged the laptops on Sunday! Also, I did a deep clean of their learning areas on Sunday as well! I made sure all of the breakfast items were fully stocked. Sunday became a day to be a little more calm. Being prepared helps the start of the day.
Music Monday
We usually do Turn Up Fridays where we play music and have a light morning. I decided to add music to Monday morning! This helps to bring a little joyfulness in the start of the day. Remember each of the children were sleeping in and being on vacation mode for 2 weeks. We started the day with a little grace! Remember kids are mini versions of you so if you’re feeling a certain way so will they. Start the day moving and grooving.
Turned Emails Back On
I turned off the kids emails from their teachers during the break! Once the gifts from Christmas were accounted for via email it was off for 2 weeks. There’s no reason a teacher on Christmas break would need to get in contact with me. I left the main schools’ emails on because that would communicate serious issues that would need my attention. Printing their forms that they needed for the start of the week was helpful in making sure they were prepared for the day and week.
Getting Up Early for Mom
I get up early anyone on any given day but on the day the children will be returning after a break is more vital. This is time to get ready, pray, throw a little make up on, and grab coffee is all apart of a little self-care before the day gets started good! Taking that extra time to get me together helps me to get them together. Feeing good helps you move better through the day.
Tone Check
How I wake the children up and the tone used is just as important. So today it’s all about lower tones, extra patience, and speaking to them the way I would have wanted to be woken up and spoken to on the first day back to class. So watch the tone used as this was vital to their and your start!
Monday Reset
If all all ever fails on any day knowing a reset can happen at any point of the day matters. Today they will need to be redirected! They will need to be reassured and that’s what I am here to do! These tips for today can be applied to any day of the week! Just remember you got this! It’s okay to have stress happen but it’s more important in how you handle it!
Happy Monday parents! Let’s start the week off strong! We are in a new year and a new month! Setting the tone will always help make the day go smoothly!
