Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

I don’t know if you’re purging your home like I am or washing your clothes before the New Year but keep in mind whatever it is you do, I wish you well in your management of your day and your preparation for your New Year.

For those who push and motivate themselves daily, weekly, and monthly this is just another level of preparation added to what they already do. Kudos to you-help motivate others by being consistent and making sure that you speak positivity to those around you. If you lack normal motivation revel in this preparation and do what you can to hold on to this motivational moment.

Here’s a few ways that you can motivate and hold on to your new release of motivation:

Accountability Partner

Get an accountability partner. My best friend sent a journal challenge and the other best friend who neither communicated with also bought me a journal.  So now I can continue to write in my journal daily which I will use as self-care to release before I spew my issues on others. That’s always a great practice. Do not spew your issues on others until you have attempted to work it out within. So many people put their bad vibes out into the atmosphere without checking themselves first.

Supply Check

Just like you can’t do a journal challenge without a journal what do you need to be successful? When I first started my weight,loss journey a few years ago, I bought containers to meal prep. I bought a new yoga mat, fitness equipment, whatever I needed I lined it up. If you start that the wait until later game, you will look up and find out that you will be a month later and will have a nothing to show for it. So, get what you need to be successful so you can be successful. Most of any goals is having what you need. I spent many days at the Dollar Store, Target, Amazon, and Five Below saving money but accomplishing the prep of it all so I wouldn’t have an excuse. Pack a bag for the gym with everything you absolutely need and keep it in the trunk of the car. 

Mind Reset

No goal will get accomplished when you dump your old thinking. No way are you going to soar telling yourself how raggedy you are. We are all raggedy so no need to up the negative self-talk. Do away with it and soon. Its not going to serve you. It will hold you down even further. OH, and your body hears you. Your spirit hears you. If you can’t look in the mirror and not speak one positive thing about you-you have work to do. I would even suggest a professional session or two to get some tips. For my folks that pray, you can’t ONLY pray your mental illness or negative self-talk away. Faith without works is dead. You need an action plan along with prayer and sometimes that may mean a professional. Your pastor isn’t the only person you need to talk to. Most of them aren’t trained to help with mental issues. You need those God gifted with the ability to hear your issues and help you push through all of it. 

Let’s get smarter in how we move no matter if you are sitting reading this thinking about how you aren’t setting no resolutions. That’s fine but you better find a solution to the problems you are carrying. Some of the weight on you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually is from your lack of having a solution trying to dodge a resolution.
