Happy Wednesday. Today is a great day to have a great day. I have been sick for a few days. For the first time in a long time, I really rested. There are times when in my rest happens but I would have already completed blogs in the background. But this time I rested and took that small amount of time away from my laptop. So here’s the things that has gone down.
High School Tours
My oldest is in the last stages of high school tours. This is a new world for all of us. For one in my hometown we never had to do all of this for highschool. You went to the high school that was associated with our district. So having to apply to a high school and get accepted is new. The stress of navigating this has been a lot. The things that I am mostly concerned with how my daughter is feeling. This is such a big decision and I want her to be happy. So we shall see. For others moms and dads in Philly I send godspeed to you all.
Catching up on Media Events
I did attend before I got sick a view media events. I will do my best to catch up with those blogs before Friday. For instance, I will be releasing one of the theater reviews later today and the other one on Thursday. I will also catch up on video content between this and next week. Thank you to every PR who reaches out to me. They are used to my 24-48 turnaround time. This time I wasn’t able to do so.
Wednesday Joy
Today I just want to share the joy for not being in pain. I haven’t had an ear infection since I was a kid. As adult ear infection hits differently. I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone. Also I had to replace my keurig and a few of my self care items. It has been a trying few days to say the least. So the joy of staying peaceful has been super helpful. Self care this week has been sleeping and resting. Allowing my mind to finally relax with me at the same time matters. The art of rest isn’t just the act of simply going to bed but also mind rest.
Podcast Reminder
If you haven’t listened to the podcast from Friday give a listen. As we talk about the holidays we are prepping in ways that go beyond meals. Setting boundaries for what you will and won’t do is key. Finding space for you and your family matters. For instance when my Mother in Law passed away less than a month before Thanksgiving we ate Thanksgiving dinner for breakfast. We went to the movies and relaxed for the rest of the day. The point was we moved away from tradition. Make the holidays what you want it to be.
Buena Onda Tacos
Taco Tuesday was yesterday and if you missed the blog go and give it a read. Tacos are life so you can enjoy it all year long. There is something special about good tacos. Bowls or burritos are available too. Thanks to Aversa PR for having me and my Foodie friend, Ashley.
Back to Wednesday Reality
With me being back to reality here are the things and ways in which I start my morning off on the right foot:
Podcast listen: How to use Personal Power to get what you want
Music Listen: We win by Kirk Franklin and Lil Baby
Breakfast: coffee (had to purchase it since Keurig is broken) oatmeal and non dairy yogurt
Personal Mantra: Think like you want to be seen
I hope that helps you in some way today. I like you have a full plate. But taking a little time to get back in the flow of life. Wednesdays are the middle mark of knowing you’re making it. So rejoice in that and make the most of it. Focus on the good that is happening or the good you can create to make things happen. Happy Wednesday!
