Happy Wednesday. Today is not only the last Wednesday of the month but the last day of the month. We are going to welcome in December with open arms. There has been a lot of movement lately in social media and social events in general. So here is what has happened.
Recovered from the Flu
I wasn’t able to do a Wednesday check in last week due to the flu. I attempted and got as far as the title. During that down time I focused on taking my meds, healing, and rest. The biggest complaints I had was the bad cough, fevers and more. Yes I checked myself out for Covid and the test came back as negative. My daughters also experienced being sick too. So for Thanksgiving I mustered up enough energy to cook dinner and rest. My husband insisted that I rest and not cook but me being me I just didn’t want a catered dinner. So thankfully we were able to compromise. I cooked and baked with my son and he did all of the clean up, organizing of the leftovers and more. It was wonderful even while sick. My husband did an excellent job like he often does when I am sick.
Lunch with the Bestie
I know it’s crazy but we finally celebrated one of the Bestie’s Birthday from October. It’s better to be late than not at all. Our schedules are always all over the place. So my first outing since being sick we took to True Food Kitchen. They have some of the best food options.
Their drinks are always so good too. It was pouring down raining too. But it made for a great Sunday Funday. I had the Vegan Double Cheeseburger. I finally finished it on Tuesday for lunch. Started off with a Butternut Squash soup. The portion is more than enough. The two drinks I had was the Prosecco Rose, and the Rosé Sangria. It felt so good to enjoy some adult conversation. So happy belated Birthday Kyla!
Founding Footsteps Holiday Trolley Tours
This has to be the best time that I have ever had for the holidays. I got yearly. I took the whole family last year. We will be back again this year too. However I went as an Influencer first and nothing is more fun than a boozy holiday tour. This is fun for all ages FYI. When I took my kids I had canteens of hot chocolate for the kids and a boozy version for the adults. All you need is a good fireball and trust me it’s delicious. The tour is BYOB. For our tour, it was sponsored by Top Dog Cocktails. If you haven’t had them yet-try them. They are 12.5 alcohol by volume.
The tour makes 3-4 stops. One being at the Franklin Square, Smedley Street, Miracle on 13th street and Christmas Village. Pay attention to your stops. They will tell you how much time you have. Dress warmly. The trolley is weatherized but it’s important since you are off and on to be particularly dressed for the elements. Expect to also sing Christmas carols along the way too. All in all this tour is about 2 hours of fun for the whole family. Make sure you book soon. Mondays and Tuesdays are for private tours. So if you have a group and want to have a little holiday cheer-consider this your must go push.
Philadelphia Christmas Village-Wednesday Highlight
The Philadelphia Christmas Village is back and better than ever. We went to the media invite night and it was so much fun. Start off with your hot chocolate or mulled wine. Enjoy a keepsake class that will be as a great memory. From there we saw Phil the Reindeer as he helped officially open. There are so many amazing vendors. Supporting small business is so important. Gifts for everyone on your list is such a great way to really enjoy the holiday season. Remember it’s open daily until December 24th.
So that is all for now. I have media events happening until now until the weekend. Pay attention to the holiday round ups I will do in about a week. In addition, don’t forget to shop the Holiday Gift Guide. As we step into the holidays take your mental health serious. Set a budget. You can’t do it all so don’t. Decine invitations. Be vigilant about your time and balance family and friends as much as you can. One thing I realized when I got sick was one I haven’t been taking my vitamins which isn’t helping me in the least bit when it comes to taking care of me.
Have a great week and day. I hope your week is going well. Take some time to add some self care into your life this week trust me we all could use a dose. Happy Wednesday!
