Happy Wednesday. We have made it to our mid week check-in. For many that is a great thing. Life is rough and it’s okay to feel a need to be excited about being half way through. If you are here and you are hanging on by a string I feel you all the same. So what has been going on and how can we make the week better?
Nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson
As a Black woman and mother I am so proud to see that we have a Black woman who could be the first Black woman on the Supreme Court. Regardless of all of these questions that are layered for no reason-she is the most qualified-period. I love watching this all unfold. It’s a point in History. One day for those who get tired of hearing about their being the first Black this or that, that is exactly the point. Until we no longer need to say the first we must press forward to give all the hope of seeing themselves worthy of being in such spaces.
Arner Adventures
I am a guest host for this week’s episode for Arner Adventures. I loved it. First of all I never get tired of telling my story. This was such an easy podcast to do. I love the Arners. If you remember I covered Shannon Arner for Women’s History Month. I’ve met Shannon in person and she is amazing. I could see her from across the room and she is a light. Also they sent me the sweetest gift. A gift from Sugarwish. Its a great way to send a gift to anyone. It can be candy, wine, snacks, and more. So if you haven’t already check out the episode, follow them, and enjoy.
Conversations with Toi
I am taking a two week break. This is week one. I will be enjoying this down time and haven’t decided if I will extend it by one week. If a change happens, I will make an announcement if I do so. I am loving the no editing. Do not worry as much as I love down time, I love the Podcast so I won’t be abandoning it anytime soon. Make sure you subscribe to receive at text when a new episode is available.
How has the Week been going?
It’s going. This week like all other weeks are super busy. There are a lot of things on the to do list and crazy part is that this week wasn’t an overly busy media week. I was sick over the weekend and I enjoyed getting my rest. I needed my time to get my health together. Who knew a cold could take me out? No it wasn’t COVID-19. However the rest was needed. I did blog about going to People’s Light to see Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical. Make sure you go and see that production. Its a story on Lloyd Price, who was rightfully the first American Teen idol of his time. His music was stolen as such was many Black artist during that time. Price’s story of loss in both professionally and personal turmoil. His songs, “Personality” and “Lawdy Miss Clawdy”
Spring is Here- Wednesday Truth
It has been quite an interesting flow of weather here in Philadelphia. From warm days, rain, and cold all in the matter of a few days. With Spring being here it’s also a refreshing renewal. I hope that is making you want to get outside, learn a new hobby, book a vacation, road trip or even a staycation. Do so and enjoy the newness.
Wednesday Check-In Goals
There are some things that we need to look at for how we manage our week. For instance, if you have had issues with getting up, take note of your nigh tine routine. If meals have been a struggle, consider meal planning and making meals that will assist you in ending the week strong. If you haven’t been able to add in self care, it happens. Add more time for self care. Increase some down time. Maybe elect some early bedtime in exchange for falling asleep on the couch or mindless television time.
Wednesday Joy?
What has been your joy for the week. I take and I use my marker pen and write them down in bright colors on my planner. The purpose is to make sure that I can easily see the joys. Sometimes we are focused on the bad moments that we forget that life can be shaded by it. Let’s find joy. Increase those joyful moments. Showcase that same joy. As we continue our Wednesdays, find that joy and shout them out. Happy Wednesday. We are halfway there-let’s end the week strong.
