Happy Wednesday. I am hoping your week is off to a good start. My week is off to an interesting start but nonetheless we are up and moving. So what has been happening in my world, a lot of running around. If you hadn’t had the opportunity to check out the Cartoon Network blog, you should. August is National Family Fun month so I will share a few things and ideas of how to incorporate some fun into your life.
Wednesday Joy
Today I choose to tap into the joy of productivity. I am loving how these weeks are flying. I did have some anxiety regarding school. Our kids start new school. They start August 29th. When I saw the Back to School list it was overwhelming. Not in a buying type of way but that we are here once again. I had to relieve that anxiety by reminding myself how blessed I am to not stress over the money part. However if you are in the same boat, take a deep breath. Your kids are probably dealing with their own anxiety as well. I have Back to School content coming out in a week or so. Stay tuned for it.
Family Fun Ideas
What do you do for fun with your family? The other day the kids and I enjoyed playing with balloons. Simple as it was it was a lot of fun to eliminate each member until my husband was the only one standing in leaving the balloon in the air without touching the ground. We did that as an exercise before bed. Probably wouldn’t recommend during the school year to do that so close to bed because it causes everyone to be a little wound up. The kids the next day decided to have a water balloon fights. It was fun and with the current heat wave it was needed. Here are a few other things that you can do for family fun:
- Themed Dinners
- Movie night-fyi I saw DC Super Pets it was amazing
- Game night-if you are in Philly go to Twenty One Pips for dinner and games
- Bowling
- Amusement Parks-we are scheduled to go to 2 more this month-content will come
- Sip and Paint Night-juice for the kids; whatever for the adults
- Beach Day
So as you can see there are plenty of things you can do and many more not even mentioned.
Wednesday Check In
So what is your week like? I have found that my time management skills need a tune up. For instance, I am backed up on content. So this week, I plan to get organized. I want to make sure that I focus on what needs to be done and how I can be better in that mode. So I am back to getting things written down and back on the calendar. As the school year starts back up I am going to have to go back to cooking ahead. This means meal prepping. I will make many meals for the week and get my crock pot back and running. Why? It’s important to make meals that sustain our family and help with getting the kids to bed on time nightly.
Wednesday Routines
I plan to make sure that we discuss routines. I have a week that I have set aside on just that. So that means I will share various aspects of setting a routine, what happens when you miss the mark in the routine, and more. Look for that series to happen right after Labor Day. This will help so many as we try to enjoy those last Summer moments, tap into the Fall, and get ready to end the year on a high note.
So I hope your Wednesday is off to a great start. If not let’s be happy we are at a midweek mark. Focus on what we can do to do better. Enjoy a great glass of wine for Wine Down Wednesday.
