Happy Wednesday and happy mid week check in. I hope you are well. Today’s Wellness Wednesday has a lot to do with self care and breaks. So if you are finding that you are feeling overwhelmed even for a short week, take a deep breath.
Wednesday Wellness Motivation
For many due to the Martin Luther King holiday observation, it was a short week. From having that day off or on however you approached it, may come with its own sense of mayhem. For instance in our house, we took a day off while various members in our house did community projects over the weekend. I worked on organizing my social media and blog. In addition, relaxing, working on my crossword book and more. Find a break! Take a break! Breathe. Find solace and peace even if you have to create it.
Weekend Wrap Up
Over the weekend with resting was some time to spend with my bestie. We went to see En Vogue at Rivers Casino. It was a great time. We were able to catch up, eat and drink, and have that time alone to check in. I’m a firm believer that friends are the spice of life. For me my friends mean the world even if I don’t speak to them daily.
Having time to reconnect is amazing in every way! It helped to facilitate an even more relaxing and productive week. Don’t take your weekends for granted. Sometimes the weekends go by and you barely had time to reset.
Wednesdays Joys
Here in Philly we are still feeling the touch of Winter. However I was able to get a walk in due to parking my car further away from where I needed to be. The ability to enjoy that crisp walk was what I needed. It’s a beautiful start of the day today. In addition to that walk, was time at the grand opening of Garces Trading Co for their new cafe. It’s aesthetically beautiful. They were giving away free croissants and coffee and I’m always happy to obliged. Although my schedule is pretty tight for the rest of the day, this little break to work and get things done was necessary. Come to the Kimmel Center and go to Garces Trading Co for breakfast, lunch, dinner, after show cocktails, and more.
Self Care Check In
We all know how how important self care is. However how often are you practicing? Are you taking daily care of you! For instance for me self care is also making sure I take my vitamins and increasing my fruits and veggies by going to the market at least once a week. Self care looks like going to bed by 930am on nights that I don’t have media events and sleeping. Maybe self care may look like making sure to spend time with your family and come off of your electronics. What you define is self care is simply that-self. Making it personal.
January Goals
How are you doing with your monthly goals? For me I started to see some results. In my personal life, I worked on physical movement. My gym time has been unmatched. It helps me with more than just weight control. It’s a way to relieve stress. In addition to relieving stress, it helps me to be able to have that time that I know I’m dedicating to my body. I’ve added yoga which I plan to do 1-2 a week along with gym. Yoga is necessary for me to stretch my body.
Professionally I’m working hard to pitch and get the coins. Listen as much as I love what I do, getting pair to do what I do is equally important. So I’m grateful for the ability to lean into this work. Making sure I feel and look good is important to me. Facials, are on my January list of things to keep up. Whatever your goals are, indulge. Do one thing daily that helps you accomplish your goals.
So Wednesday is here and we all have a chance to take a breath, work on ourselves, dive into the goals, and make the week as successful as you already are! Happy Wednesday!
