Before you go to Adventure Aquarium

The exhibition is open until March 17th. Once that is over unless they extend it, they will not be available. It is strongly encouraged that you  purchase a timed ticket to see the Mermaids. If you run the risk of assuming that you will just simply get a ticket on site, you run the risk of it selling out and no other  accommodations can be made. The mermaids are located near the Hippos. There are also no strollers allowed up at the water tank to allow others the opportunity to experience it. This means you can bring them, but they will have to be parked in the special parking spot.

This is to avoid crowding and other issues that can occur. Mermaids are in the water and on land in the sting ray room as well as an opportunity to take a picture with them too near the sting ray room. To get the best price be sure to purchase the ticket for the digital picture online.

Kids’ Reactions to the Mermaids

We went to the media preview and loved it. I would suggest on whatever day that you attend that you go as early as possible, the longer that you wait the more it will get crowded. Pack some patience. At the end of the day keep in mind, that we all want to enjoy them, you will go through the line and there are two windows to see the Mermaids in action. In addition, keep in mind there are other water staff in the water too. The safety of the Mermaids is paramount. Please make sure that you follow all the instructions of the staff.

The kids and I absolutely loved the Mermaids. They were as attentive as possible. I am quite sure that it’s a little hard to see as they are underwater for time they were in there. I appreciated the grace that the mermaids shown to the kids as they are tapping or banging on the glass. (Parents-let’s do our part to stop that from happening)

Are the Mermaids worth it at Adventure Aquarium

It is. The Mermaids adds another level of fun to your time at the aquarium. It is something to see how they glide and move into the water. Also, there are many opportunities to purchase mermaid related items and treats. The kids loved that part too. A lot of kids dressed up in their favorite mermaid outfits or attire.

Much to do at Adventure Aquarium

The aquarium has so many amazing animals to see. I have gone so many times and its always like the first time. I would suggest making it a day while there. Plan for lunch and other snacks. Looking to save a few dollars like me? Purchase your lunch items ahead of time. This way you can save while there. If you want to save, consider being a member.

I enjoy the sting rays, sharks, and the jelly fish. My kids enjoy the shark walk as well as the 360-shark tank that you can walk through. Either way there’s something for everyone.

Recommendations for Adventure Aquarium

Although Adventure Aquarium is a family-oriented place. I would also recommend this for an amazing date night. You can walk around in your own pace. If this is a first or subsequent date you can take your time to get to know your person. Also, as much as we want to do things with others, this is a fantastic opportunity for a great self-care time too. Nothing is better than clearing your head while taking in nature and animals. Plus, Adventure Aquarium is a spot that you can do no matter the weather. It is also about 20 minutes from Philadelphia making it easy to navigate.
