Happy Monday. I hope you had a fulfilling weekend. With that being said, let’s get into our Monday flow. If your Monday is starting off a little frustrating, you aren’t alone. Take note of what you are saying to yourself and how you are feeling during this time. Mondays are hard but we don’t have to start our day being harder on ourselves.
Monday Mishaps
So, as I start my day, I am having all kinds of technical issues. For one apparently Bluehost is having issues with my site. I had to find an alternative to even write this blog post for the day. As much as I want to be frustrated and the fact that I will be changing them as a host soon. I want to push through as much as I can to attempt to not allow that negative energy to linger. We are in control of our responses no matter what happens. As much as I want to throw my laptop, I know that it won’t help me in the long run. What are your responses showing you today?
Monday Responses
In addition to the technical issues my to do list is about a mile long. As a Wife and Mother, whenever I travel for business or pleasure there are things that I must do to ensure all is well. However I am running up against time. How I plan to handle that is to take deep breaths. Remind myself that whatever I don’t get to do will not be a waste. My family can and will handle themselves while I am gone. I will focus on what is the immediate need. What are your immediate needs. Sometimes we want to work on what’s ahead so much that we don’t see the immediate need. Focus on that and let the other things sit.
Mindset Adjustments
Sometimes the way we are thinking about the situation, affects not necessarily the outcome but how we move through it. For instance, the more that we continue to tell ourselves or remind ourselves of the worse, even when it works out-we are mentally drained. An example, one day I was being triggered in some way. I told myself that I would be in a bad way. Although the situation worked itself out, I hated how I felt and how I thought about it all the way through.
How to Monday Reset
I am a firm believer of Monday or any day resets. Monday resets hit differently at times. For instance, you made need to start the day with your favorite drink in your favorite cup. I made coffee and then poured it into a different cup. I had to take a deep breath. Also listening to the right music or podcast is helpful. Taking things for what they are instead of compounding on it. Yes, you can have a bad moment in a day but don’t let it define your day. This is helpful thinking even when things are happening right after the other. Your mindset is important. Take a break. Think of ways of helping you not be overwhelmed. For me this morning, that started with just simply not diving into my work mode.
With that being said, I hope you have a great start of your day. And if your start has been rocky as mine, trust me as bad as it feels we will get through. Let’s chalk it to a Manic Monday!
