If you are a Legoland fan then you must bring your kids to the Discovery Center in Philadelphia. Come and meet Izzie from DREAMZzz and Z-Blob, do a scavenger hunt, and more as you become an official Night agent. This event ends September 2nd, 2024.
What to expect before you go
As always purchase your tickets ahead. Although you can purchase them in person the biggest discount is online. Plan to be at Legoland for a few hours. There’s a lot to do, build, and see. Everything that you need is all in one place. They do have an onsite cafeteria and eatery. For the safety of other children please try not to bring in outside food. Your child will want to play, watch a 4D movie, play in the pirate ship, and more. Bring socks if the want to play inside of the pirate ship. Another item to have is hand sanitizer although there are stations all around.
LEGO DREAMZzz 4D movie
Pro-tip let the kids watch the Lego DREAMZzz 4D movie first before they begin their adventure. Doing it in reverse unless you’re doing it before you leave could leave the kids restless. We experienced a parent do this and immediately regretted it. Remember that kids do become over stimulated.
The LEGO DREAMZzz 4D movie was amazing. You will be provided a pair of 4D glasses to enjoy. Expect for the movie sound to be enhanced as well as other features like brief moments of smoke, and water. Consider if this is a good fit for your child. The movie itself is definitely attention worthy. It’s jam packed with adventure.
Meet Izzie from DREAMZzz and Z-Blob
This had to be a highlight of our time. Everyone lines up so that every child has had a time to meet Izzie and take a picture if you would like. This meet and greet was done outside of the Creative Workshop towards the middle circle. This is also the place where dance parties take place too. Remember to be kind to those waiting and use caution when meeting Izzie from DREAMZzz and Z-Blob.
Adventures Everywhere
There is a lot to do to become an official Night Agent. For instance you need to do a scavenger hunt and find Mr. Oz’s secret code. You can create your own animal vehicle to test amongst other Night agents amongst you. Creativity is on full display while at Legoland Discovery. There’s adventures for all ages. My kids range from 10-15 and anytime we go we all have a blast.
How to plan your day while at Legoland
There’s a lot to do and the space is big enough to accommodate but manageable enough not to feel overwhelmed. Take your time while there. Since there’s so much to see and do I find it easier to make a small note of things I want to do. The main objective is to have a great time. Another pro-tip is to let the kids make their own agenda. Let’s face it kids aren’t in full charge in all things. So letting them feel like they can take the lead could help parents have a better time while there.
With multiple kids it’s hard to have all of them on track at the same time. Take turns for each kid to lead will be key.
Must visit spaces while at Legoland
Since there’s so much to do here are our family just visit spots:
- Imagination Express train ride and game
- Great Lego VR experience-this is an extra fee of $8pp but worth it
- Pirate Adventure soft park
- 4D Cinema
You may find that your list is different than ours but that’s the fun of it. Everyone will enjoy things from different perspectives. As Legoland DREAMZzz is scheduled to end on September 2nd make sure you attend. Don’t forget to buy a Lego set in the store. Each child will receive DREAMZz comic book, DREAMZz pop badge and Official Night Agent card at the LEGO Retail Shop when exiting.
A special thank you to the entire staff who accommodated us while there. Our family had an amazing time and as always can’t wait to go back.
Legoland is located at 500 W. Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting. Tickets are available!
