Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Kick Axe Throwing Philly has Nerf play along with the axe throwing. This gives more families the opportunity to play together and have a great family outing. We took the kids and let’s say the joys and talks that ensued on the ride home let me know it was worth it.

What to expect for the Kick Axe Throwing Philly and Nerf Experience

Make sure that you book ahead. Once there any adult will have to sign their waiver. In addition, any minors you can add them to your waiver. Once done you will be escorted to your playing section. There is an array of Nerf guns, and arrows that you will be able to use. It is up to you to decide which one.

The games arrange from super easy to hard. The same rules of waiting for each person to shot before you go and get your nerf target shooters will remain the same. You can then also order plenty of food options and drinks including non-alcoholic beverages are awaiting you. Make sure you tip your server well. You all must wear closed toe shoes!

Once your time is done you can either leave or hang out in the front at one of the lounge spaces. Keep in mind it’s no longer semiprivate in the lounge area. However, it is fun especially depending on when you go. Want less of a crowd go during the week. Want more of a group go anytime from Thursday through the weekend.

Nerf Fun

I wasn’t aware that the kids would be doing the Nerf fun and the original axe throwing. So, when we got there, we were under the understanding that we would be only doing Nerf. If you have ever been in a Nerf battle this isn’t quite like it. You aren’t allowed to turn it into a shoot-out with others. You are however able to shoot your targets. Again, there are many target games to do. Once we got used to the Nerf fun we did go to the harder games too. The intensity was there but we are a competitive family too.

Family Nerf Battle

One of the key components with the Nerf fun is making sure that you keep score. In our family we like to make sure that it is clear who won. We divided the team from individuals to mom and daughters against dad and brother. We won a few and we lost a few. This is a great way to get kids up from their phones and into the game. One of the things that you trigger is your and your family’s fine motor skills, problem solving and just plain old fun.

Axe Throwing Introduction

As a bonus we also did the axe throwing. My husband and I have done it before. I for one am not that good at it but I do enjoy the game. The kids were excited to enjoy axe throwing however you must follow all instructions to make sure that you are keeping the kids and everyone around you safe. I was concerned about how they would do. As always, the mom in me was concerned but like always the kids did well.

At one point one of my kids no matter how much they tried couldn’t get the axe to connect. One pro-tip is telling this child that outside of the safety learning how to get out of your head and try something new was what they need to hear, and they connected.

Isn’t that a great lesson for all. Getting out of your head. If you haven’t done axe throwing and you believe that you may be intimidated-you can do it.

Food and Drinks at Axe Throwing

The food and drinks at Kick Axe Throwing Philly was phenomenal. I do mean everything was hot, well-seasoned, and the drinks were great too. Even the non-alcoholic drinks were made perfectly. I highly recommend that you order you some options. You can go with a few appetizers or get heavier options too. Either way the appetizers are shareable and delicious.

The entire experience was a highlight of the Summer. I highly recommend you gathering your family and friends for a full-on experience. Thank you to the staff on sight and online who helped make sure our experience was one to remember. This makes a great all year-round activity. The Storr Family gives this a 10/10 rating.
