Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Goodbye January! As we end the month of January let’s recap as we step into a new one. January has come in with a lot of ups and downs. From the new President, campaigns worked on, and post-holiday recover you may be feeling a little uneasy and that is quite okay.

As always, we all could use a little reset and recovery. So, this month I laid a little low. In my personal pursuit of reclaiming my time. I encourage us all to define what a reset looks like for us all. Let’s start with the most recent to the oldest for the month:

Wellness in January

Smart Sweets-this is the candy that allows us to indulge with zero guilt. The candy is about 2-3g of sugar per serving. Most servings are about a bag or so. So, you get more candy with less sugar. It’s the way to kick sugar but keep the nostalgia of candy. The newest flavor offerings are Cherry Lemonade, and Pink Punch. Remember if you are ordering online to use my code Toitimeblog to save. In addition, I am showcasing a new flavor next month that’s going to be hot.

Floating or Water Yoga-this was a brand-new experience, and I highly recommend if you live in Philly. If you don’t make sure that you find one near you. In addition, you can read about the experience and let me know if you would have done the same.

Wellness with CVS-although the same has ended, keep in mind I encouraged us to save for all our newest vitamins. Now we can focus on the Valentine’s Day with a few cute items for all. Shop for everyone this Valentine’s Day and head to CVS, online or in-store for all your makeup, party and gifting needs! Buy one get one 50% from 2/2-2/14! #cvspartner #cvs #valentinesatcvs

Cold Plunge for those willing to step out of their comfort zone.

Self-Care for Inauguration

This is something we can add a little more for post recovery for the month. 47 stepped into office and it seemed all hell broke loose. From freezing resources and more but here we are barely holding onto our edges. However, this is why it’s important to take a step back. Know what is going on and find ways to ground yourself. These are the additional things I am doing to help:

• Therapy

• Reading Bible or another spiritual book

• Starting my day with prayer

• Workouts

• Research and vet new source then ask myself what the plan is for personal and community

• Using music to calm

Foodie Vibes

We all love food but here are some of my foodie adventures for the month:

City Cruises pre–Valentine’s Day. The food and drinks were delicious. Read up on the experience and use code HOLIDAY15 to save on your Valentine’s Philly Cruise

P’unk Burger-they are the home of shakes and burgers including vegan options. Girl Scout cookies are back in season so experience one of their shakes featuring the most beloved Girl Scout cookies.

Testa Rossa-this is the newest restaurant in Glen Mills. The brunch there is out of this world delicious.

The Sugary-they now have their Valentine’s Day features available. Read up on them and what they have to offer and don’t wait until the last minute for an order

48 Record Bar-they have more than enough mocktail and cocktails too. The vibes are the best I have seen in a while if you love music and drinks. They even have a record butler spinning tunes.

January Things to do

I love the fact that Philly caters to a moving and vibrant city life. Outside of the ones mentioned above let’s not forget Cork & Candles. Their newest location in Ardmore is Black owned and absolutely stunning in every way.

Out today is the newest movie, Dog Man and it’s a great one. I took the family, and they fell in love with it. My son has every book in the series so trust me when I say it is a great one for the whole family.

Looking to get your hair refreshed this month? Look to The Dry Bar for an in and out experience.

Club 624 is back and better than ever. It’s a great spot to grab some drinks, see new artist perform and more.

Honorable mention:

• Philadelphia Orchestra’s New Year show

• Mj the Musical with Ensemble Arts Philly

• Vision Board Party with Tomika Talks

• Dry Vibes x Selfish Philly x Otherworld Philly

• Preview for the 2025 Flower Show
