Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

So many times we want others to give us a hand.  If it’s not someone to help us financially than its emotional and mental support.  In this world people are becoming more and more selfish.  Everyone has their own issues and concerns.

I read a lot of articles like a whole lot.  It’s my thing.  However when stories hit of crimes like for instance women who suffer from depression and harm their kids, people will say I wished she would have reached out to someone.  My thoughts are simple there are people in your family, friends and community that are hurting all the time.  When someone needs to talk how available are you?

Most times we have limited time or care level so we go on about our day’s journey.  Although I’m a huge advocate for counseling there’s one thing that counseling can’t provide a person and that’s the will to move on.  You can get the tools but unless you use them it won’t work.

We are our own solution.  You have to understand that spouses are limited, family, friends can only do so much.  You have to be able to recognize what you need and go out for what you need.  I consider myself to be self sufficient but I fall into times where I look outward for support that’s not always there.  It’s during those times that I remember that I have what I need inside of me so I arise to the occasion.

Often times we as people have to realize that although we may not know the answer, we can get to a place of calm until one comes.  We don’t want to hear that.  We usually want to be able to get a quick fix and then move on. Most times that doesn’t happen.  You are strong enough to be able to be hurt and still manage life.  You are strong enough to be upset and still be kind to the people around you who didn’t hurt you.  You are strong enough to continue with your daily tasks. If you are facing something that seems to be knocking you out, even if you have help remember you ultimately are the one responsible for your actions.  Don’t let life over take you.

There are things you can do to help yourself through difficult times.  Music, a favorite activity, journal, etc. Use these things to your advantage.  It only takes a few minutes to gather your thoughts.  Remember you are the solution and begin to look inward.
