Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Galentine’s Day is around the corner. It’s a way to celebrate your friendships and more. If you have the right peo0ple in your circle, celebrating won’t be a chore. Having the right people who speak life into your world could mean everything as you navigate breakups, life, death, and more. Here is how you plan the best Galentine’s Day Party.

Make your Galentine’s Day with List

This is key. I know we don’t like to leave people out but when you’re planning to celebrate friendship leave the ones out that are problematic. So this means make sure that you add the ones that have truly been a beacon of light in your world. Celebrate them too and make it an equal exchange.

While making your list also include at least one thing that to want to celebrate. This means what is the one thing each person has done you want to highlight.

Pick a Theme and a Venue

It doesn’t have to be at a location that is pricey. It could be right in your home. Pick a spot and use your theme to help you plan your time. For instance I saw online a self care and motivation party. The women got together and encouraged each other. So they brought self care items and made it all about ways for each woman to leave empowered and have some items to continue their journey at home.

Another theme is also sleepover where everyone comes in the same pajamas or just some that they feel comfortable in. You make it like the best sleepover for each person. Here are some other themes you can do:

  • Glam
  • Mixology class
  • Game night
  • Virtual party
  • Brunch
  • Baking party

Food and drinks for Galentine’s Day

This is when you can get creative. So far this year I’ve been to about 3-4 parties. What sticks out is the care in the hosts knowing what we women want to eat. We don’t necessarily just want salads. Bring real food and make it pretty but also be good options. From good brunch items to savory items and more.

Think outside the box too. Yes have a few red and pink items but think about it on accordance to the theme. Go with the theme first and then add elements all around. Also don’t be afraid to think outside of the box for decor. One of the first places you should go should be to a Goodwill or other thrift store, Dollar Store, and then other places. The goals is to make it look good. You can spend less and make it look like a million dollars. Also looking for great drinks? Follow me on Pinterest for Galentine’s Drinks!

Gift Bags for your Galantines

If you are the host please make sure you have gift bags of some sort. Let everyone take a memento of your time. Here’s a few things to do:

  • Add a instant camera and let everyone take pics of themselves
  • Keep the items centered around the theme
  • Have enough for everyone and also bring in some to go containers for others to take things home especially if you’re just going to throw things out

Few Philly Events

If you don’t want to have a party you can opt to do an activity with your Galantine. For my local girls I’m going out one on one with them both and spending time. One is set for brunch and the other a coffee date. For my out of town Galentine’s I’m doing cards and hopefully a call on the phone.
