Helium Comedy Club

This weekend has been full of laughs. I finally went to the Helium Comedy Club to see Comedian, Simon Gibson. Since I had never been there I was honored when they invited me as a guest. Helium Comedy Club is the home to local and nationwide comedians alike. They have some of the best shows and their hospitality was even more amazing.

Laughter and Self Care

There is something to be said about self care n respects of laughter. When you are having a hard day, laughter is something that can uplift your spirit. When I first started my self care journey I utilized joy and laughter as my go to. I learned the National Holidays due to me learning to find joy in my days. Comedians especially good ones posses the talent to make others laugh and temporarily forget their cares. This is why laughing and self care is important. Having the ability to laugh when you could be crying, is helpful to helping you resolve your issues.

Helium Comedy Club Hospitality

I loved that the second I walked in, I was greeted by name. They knew I was coming and made sure that I was treated well. From Security to the ticket booth every staff member greeted me with smiles and an immediate warmth. I felt more at home than most places that I go to. Also I loved how open Helium Comedy Club. They have a bar that you can sit at and enjoy a drink before the show. If you are picking up your tickets at will call, the box office opens an hour and a half before the show. I like that since I love to get to most places early. I enjoyed catching up with my girl, Elle of Siponwhat without rushing.

Drinks

Helium Comedy Club definitely has some amazing drinks. They also have beer, cider, and wine selections. So if you are looking for a great experience, Helium has you covered. Keep in mind that if you aren’t drinking they do have quite a great selections of mocktails and soft drinks. I had the Blueberry Lemonade, Hurricane and the Sour Gummy Bear. All of them were outstanding.

Bites

They have a great selection of food. I was grateful because we got to the club at around 630 and I hadn’t eaten dinner as of yet. Since I was Elle we got the Mac and cheese bites,  Mediterranean hummus platter, and some fries. The food was hot, tasted well, and I was pleasantly surprised at the selections like pizza, chicken sandwiches and more. So if you are coming to Helium they got you covered with food and the prices are about what you would expect to pay at a Club/Restaurant.

Simon Gibson

I enjoyed the Comedians who came before Simon. Each of them had their strengths that I enjoyed. I love when a person can make fun of themselves and are courteous to the crowd. To be honest, it’s been so long since I had been at a live show that I was nervous. I get a little nervous about sitting so close to the front of Comedy shows. We sat in the second row but we were right in the center. So we definitely were in the eyesight.

Simon Gibson was amazing. There was hilariously a fly that landed on him and the crowd went into a laughing roar. He is funny and I would suggest you take a look at his past work. The entire time he let us know he wasn’t getting canceled by talking to the men only. The crowd was super receptive and definitely fed on his energy.

Helium Comedy Club notes to pay attention:

• Security is all around the club from the door to the audience. They take their jobs seriously and they made sure to combat any issue that may have arise
• If you are sitting in the first 2 rows, and the Comedians are tapping you will be asked to pay your bill when the tapping is done
• Make sure you tip well. They will definitely like most places provide the suggested tip-I usually tip above that
• Have fun
• No masks are necessary as the city mask mandate is over they are one of the businesses that won’t enforce a mask to be worn
• Dress as comfortably or as nice as you want. I didn’t see if things like Timbs (Timberland boots) or the equivalent is acceptable (refer to the website)
