I took another trip to the Governor’s Residence for an Online Content Creator retreat. The purpose was to bring Content Creator so we can learn about the new things that Governor Shapiro is doing for the Commonwealth and how to bring the information to our audiences/communities. Although there was fun to be had we also learned a lot and got the rightful information to proceed.
Content Creation and Governor Shapiro
You would have to be stuck in the stone ages to not know that social media is the way to go to reach audiences. First, most people have access to their phones. I love that Governor Shapiro is embracing it instead of stating how bad it is. Remember that social media is a tool for communication. Those who use it only for their personal use is one thing. Using it to spread positive information or information that informs is honestly used correctly is a great tool. So, when you see Governor Shapiro and his team using it keep that in mind.
For instance, the use of encouraging people to do mental health check in people can “see” themselves. The same can be used for important issues that affect the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We as Content Creators have a responsibility to use trending sound, and moments to be clear on messaging.
Pennsylvania is Changing
If you have noticed since the 6 months that Governor Shapiro has been in office, he’s on a mission to make sure that he cuts the red tape of forms and more. For instance, he has upgraded the digital space when it comes to businesses getting the help they need. No more having to figure out where to get permits and licenses to be able to operate. The quicker businesses canget up and moving the better. So, where it would take 8 weeks it now can take up to 4 days. Medicaid has gotten an overall too. Shapiro has eliminated the backlog so that those who need it can get it.
When I moved to Philadelphia, I had to order new birth certificates for my daughter. We changed her last name, and it took weeks to process. Now you can get what you need sooner because the backlog has been cleared.
What to Expect in the Coming Months
Governor Shapiro is just getting started. From his ability to make things more seamless look for changes to just about all the resources that Pennsylvanians need. An overall is on the horizon. I can’t wait to share what that will look like. His team is meeting with the mover and shakers that play behind the scenes and in the coming months will unveil such a pleasant shock of relief to those who need it most.
Getting to Governor Shapiro Residence
My fellow friend and Content Creator, Tomika Bryant of Tomika Talks and I drove up together. We were able to catch up, talk strategies for our blogs and content and more. It’s always refreshing to talk to someone who gets it. I speak honestly when I say this, Content Creation is not for the faint. It is a lot of work. From editing videos to make it appealing to writing and editing of blogs to meet SEO needs and more is not as easy as it looks. To be “on” all the time takes a lot of work to balance.
Stretching Past your Safety Zone
So another trip to Governor’s Residence was successful. In addition, because of my mental health I am always leery of being in mixed crowds. My anxiety triggers the most when I am around others that I do not know. One thing about the Content Creators that were present my anxiety was immediately at ease. That speaks volumes. It takes me a little while to warm up. In addition, I was interviewing someone off the scene and had to go off and rejoin the group. No one even noticed or noticed but didn’t make me feel weird about managing my work schedule. Also, as great as Shapiro has been, the staff around him reflect him. They do well working together and when you are on the premises the entire staff make sure your needs are well taken care of. I appreciate it.
Being in the right space with the right place makes my anxiety calmer. This is why I am always encouraging others to continue doing things and step out of your comfort zone. It is that taking a leap to be at the table where decisions are being made that you know will guide and help others is always something that I will continue to do. Stand clear in the coming months as I bring content that is reflective of the help for PA no matter what you need to do like drivers licenses to mental health support. Pa.gov will be more helpful and easier y to use so stand by! Thank you Governor Josh Shapiro and Lori and all of the staff for the gift of hospitality.
