We for the most part want to get full results from the things we do but it’s having the right amount of time to do it that becomes tricky. It could be from budding businesses and more. So how do you manage your work ethic to get full time results regardless of what your life passions are? Work any dream in a full time capacity even if you only have part time hours. Here are tips to manage your work ethic and get the most out of life in all areas.
Work Ethic Changes
There are phases of life that we all go through. When you are in Elementary school you learn the principles of school. By the time you are in high school you learn how to manage the energy output and more that you need to reach an intended goal. Some adults struggle in this area. I remember the first lesson in college wasn’t about not doing drugs or underage drinking. It was more about managing time. Time management is how you adult in this world. For instance, paying bills require money but learning how to pay your bills on time while managing your money is the better lesson.
That lesson of learning how to manage my time has been the catalyst in how I run this blog. For instance I do work all day whether that is on sponsored posts, managing other companies social media, writing, and so much more. As a mom and wife I can’t simply stay on my laptop and phone and negate all other responsibilities. It’s the highs and lows of time management that helps me to do it “all.” When you notice that your work ethic needs some changes here are a few things to do:
- Acknowledge you need to change
- Be coachable-no matter how old you are or how well you do we all can do better
- Acquire skills-this means learn some new skills
Time Management for Full Time Results
When I worked a full time job and managed the blog I would make a lot of deep changes. At night when the kids went down I worked the blog like a full time job in part time hour increments. At night I would write, edit, and set the blogs to come out at a designated time. For socials I would use my calendar to map out a plan and drum up ideals. All of this allowed for me to be able to have the time needed to work, be in mom and wife mode, but also take the blog to the level it is now. The same principles in time management still do the same. For instance I have a friend who bakes. She works her full time job, focuses on organizing her baking tools and needs early, and bakes ahead when possible. It’s all about what you need to achieve full time results well within limited time.
Dismissing the Not Enough Time Lie
There is something to be said about not having a lot of time. For instance I would work hard between the hours of 8-midnight most nights prepping content and more. That when you weight it against how I move in a full time capacity isn’t nearly the same thing. However, keep in mind that not using time wisely isn’t the same thing as not enough time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Having it all together isn’t the goal. The goal is to start somewhere and make your time count. So what are you doing in the place of making your dreams work? Even if its 15 minutes use it. Make it work for you. I would often trade mindless television in getting content organized. Or when I was working on losing weight to become healthier I would work out to a television show. Either way I managed my time wisely.
Let go of the lie that you don’t have time. Be honest with the notion that instead of having enough time that it boils down to not using time wisely. It’s like looking for a new job. It becomes a full time job all of its own.
Take the time to work on your dreams, be honest about what you want to accomplish and so much more. It doesn’t matter what part of your life you are working on trust me you can do anything your heart has in you to do.
