Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. From blog slacking, end of the school year, and media events y’all girl is tired. However the show must go on. With that in mind here’s a recap of all things. In addition what are you doing for Father’s Day?
Restful Weekend
This past weekend I enjoyed cleaning the house and resting. I got so much rest. Sometimes a reset is necessary. For the first time in a long time I was able to not have to do much on a Sunday. I got my hair and nails done on Saturday. It was necessary. Although I am not sure what happened to my hair these last few days. I will chalk it up to humidity. My hair has been natural for over 10 years. However I haven’t stopped it from allowing me to work out. My husband and I took a staycation. We haven’t done that in a long time. It was so good to reconnect. I highly encourage couples to take a night to reconnect. Change up your scenery it will do wonders. In addition to rest I was able to take my oldest to one of her favorite YouTubers, Mythical Morning Show.
Mythical Morning
When my daughter first showed me the duo it took a little to grow on me. She is a true Mythical Beast. I am just a Mythical Mom as she called me. Watch the show to see what I mean. I am an Ensemble Philly insider who works exclusively with them. Because of that I see a lot of their shows, review them and more. I really do love it. When I saw the show was on the list, I immediately jumped on them. However I didn’t tell her I got the tickets until late. When she found out I became mom of the year. Sorry to all of the other moms. The show was phenomenal. When it started she was so hype that it made me cry. I honestly know that it is because growing up my parents would never have done anything like that. In that moment it made me so proud.
Kyuramen Cherry Hill
I am grateful for every invitation that I receive. I was invited to go to Kyuramen to enjoy their new menu tasting. The food was good. Some items I wouldn’t order again not because it’s not good, but because they are items I don’t regularly enjoy some of the items on my own. To read the blog and review, go here.
End of the School Year-Friday Relief
Thank goodness for the end of the year. The running around will now slow down and become more travel for the family. My kids did well with all of them with above an 88% percent in overall grade. I couldn’t be more proud of them all. My oldest did well with Best Buddies, Girl Scouts and Theatre. My middle child did well with 2 b. The youngest did well with her Track and Girl Scouts. We as the parents are ready for less driving first thing in the morning. Cheers to my new sophomore, 7th grader, and 5th grader. Cheers to parents for supporting the teachers. Thank you to all of the teachers all of the world that work hard and support their students. Summer vacation we are here.
Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop
I am back with another episode and we are getting close to a season break. The podcast is an absolute joy for me. Thank you for listening. On this episode I talk about content creators that spew hate and drama and are seemingly rewarded for their bad behavior. In addition we talk about Father’s Day. As always a mental health chat and check in.
What are you Doing for Father’s Day?
This is another high emotional day. For some like me that are raised by other men and don’t have a relationship with their father. Others like my husband who has a strained relationship with their fathers. Then there are others who fathers have transitioned. Let’s not forget those who do not have a father or father figure in their lives and have been raised by single mothers. Here are some blogs that cover a little bit of everything:
- Father’s Day Guide
- Happy Father’s Day to All Amazing Fathers
- Happy Father’s Day
- Take the Step out of Stepdad; Tribute to my Dad!!
- No Dads Allowed, If You Believe the BS!
- Dad Complex: It’s Complicated Let’s Salute Good Dads
I will be sending my dad aka my step dad a gift as usual. In addition making sure that my kids honor their dad well. Although he is not my dad, I get my husband something just because he is a great dad. We celebrate most holidays and Father’s Day is not simply just a day. I pray you day is filled with healing and love.
Philly Phlash
The Philly Phlash just celebrated 30 years of service. It’s a bus system that allows people to see some of the most iconic stops like Rocky steps, Benjamin Franklin Museum, Boathouse Row, Comcast Center and so much more. It costs $2 for a single ride, $5 for day pass, $9 for a two day pass, and a $12 Family pass. All septa key holders ride for free. It really is cost effective. I personally took a ride on it and loved it. First of all it was clean and air conditioned. It took me places that although I have a car makes it hard to park and enjoy. So make sure you use it if you are in Philadelphia. Thanks to the Philadelphia Visitor Center for having me ride along.
So that is all. Enjoy and have a great weekend. Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend.
