Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend! I want to thank all of you who sent a birthday message, gift, and more. This birthday has been overwhelming in so many ways. I’m grateful for my friends and family. Let’s recap my birthday, Toibration!
Media Events
I attended quite a few media events during my 10 day birthday celebration. One of the most meaningful was the Bear Affair with the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance. Knowing what they do to make kids and their families whole has to be the highlight of the year thus far. In addition to the Bear Affair I also took a City Cruise to honor moms for Mother’s Day. My family had the best time. One of the benefits of blogging is sharing experiences with my kids.
Monster Jam was an amazing time. This is our second year being asked to attend. There are a few things you should know before attending:
- Get tickets online before the start of the show
- For those with sensitive ears, wear protective ear plugs
- Be courteous to those around you
- Get there early-parking will be a challenge
- Have fun
Cinco de Mayo Fun
I was invited by one of my good girlfriends to let my hair down and enjoy some Cinco de mayo festivities. Earlier in the day was a challenge. It rained so hard and my youngest had a track meet. I stood outside for hours in the rain doing my mom love and duties. It was a welcome change to be able to be around other adults and enjoy a few beverages and tacos. Cinco de Mayo is always a fun holiday and I loved how everyone was present as we sang and danced.
Devon Seafood Grill
I enjoyed such a great time with my girl, Amanda of Phillyfoodandbarrs. We enjoyed cocktails and great food over conversation. They treated us to so many options that I had food to take home. On the blog tomorrow I give my full review. A special thank you to Devon Seafood Grill for the birthday dessert.
Sushi by Bou
If you love omakase you will love this 12 course sushi experience. It’s one hour of freshly made sushi. I loved every piece and enjoyed it. Plus we had saki and great cocktails. They gave me extra sushi and an extra saki. I slept good that night. Plus I was able to enjoy it with my girl, Brenda and fun with Amanda and Emily. The full review will be included in my recent eateries tomorrow.
Wine Down Wednesday with Amada
This is happening today and every Wednesday. Get ready for a tapas tasting that will definitely fill you. The wine selections are amazing. You will want to grab a few friends and enjoy. Plus there’s a flamenco guitarist. I also enjoy a birthday dessert too!
Rain at Ensemble Arts and PJ Clarke’s
An ode to The Beatles brings about the Rain. It was a great show. I loved the energy. It was good to see people dancing and singing to songs that they grew up with. I knew most of the songs because my mom used to play them all the time.
PJ Clarke’s is your spot to be this summer. The oysters alone will have me back. Also as soon as the weather warms up I’ll be drinking in the patio. Full review will be uo tomorrow.
Surprise Birthday Party
My husband threw my twin an amazing birthday party. He brought her down and told us that we were going to dinner. As we were getting ready he said that we were stopping at a bar for an open bar. However once there the room was filled with so much love from friends and family. It was overwhelming in a great way. From college friends to old friends and new I was in awe of the energy that it took to make it happen.
We went to the afterparty at Attico Rooftop. We had a blast. The next day we went to The Morris for brunch. I took my twin home and hung out with my remaining friends until after midnight.
It has been an epic 10 day Toibration. Thank you to all who participate in some way! Cheers to 43!
