Honk for Jesus Friday Movie review

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. Happy September. What a great month to start off on the right foot. So when I saw September is heating up to be an amazing weekend I mean just that. There is a lot going on this weekend. If you remember in the Wednesday check in that I would be having a laid back weekend that went out the door quick. Make sure you are following me on social media to see what I have been up to.

Happy September Goals

Now that September is starting off right I am happy. Content has been done not completely but very closely done for the next few months. I am ecstatic about that. This gives me the opportunity to work on blogs that are in present form. Like the checks ins or media events as they come in. All other content is mapped out for the last quarter. I will be focusing on content with themes for each week as much as possible. For instance we are covering routines and getting back into the swing of things. Follow me on Facebook for all of the content as it appears. All new blogs that deal with self care will be included.

Friday September review

We are all moving in the direction of making sure we are doing our best as Fall comes in. Fall is one of my favorite times. So I am mapping out a lot of content that will gear around food festivals, Fall festivals, and more. Be on the lookout. September media requests have been coming in hot and heavy. I appreciate the companies that send in request early as possible.

Friday Goals

Since I finalized my plans for the weekend I am now running around securing the things that I need. For instance making sure that I have full chargers, comfortable shoes, and more. When I say I will be moving I mean all of that. It will be one amazing weekend full of memories. I will be releasing the Chadds Ford Winery blog tomorrow as well. I went there yesterday and it was such a great time. If you love wine this is your call to action to make your plans to be there as they celebrate their 40 years.

Conversations with Toi

There is no new episode this week. However, make sure you listen and support as we will be back Friday, September 9, 2022. The bonus episode talked about anxiety flares that happen from time to time. If you have anxiety you know how common it is to have a flare come when you least expect it. If you have anxiety and have felt like me that it something you should be “over” by now-you’re not alone. Anxiety is a wave. It comes when you don’t want it to. Even with therapy and skills to handle it, it’s a natural part of your life. So don’t beat yourself up about it.

Back to School Friday Rant

Shout out to all of the parents who worked hard through upset kids, budgets, and more to get your child (ren) to school. From Kindergarten to College it’s not easy. When I was single and childless I never understand the big fuss. I would say things like, “don’t parents know the kids go back to school every year!” Although this is true it’s not as easy as it looks. For instance I ordered and shopped for my kids uniforms early. I was told there were no back orders. My oldest needed a kilt. We got one in store and the other would be shipped in 5-7 days. It should have been here before school started. It’s now not scheduled to get here until mid October.

School supplies for my kids were another level.  I ordered them ahead of time. Some items weren’t available which took me 4 stores in 2 days to find the missing items. Again it’s a lot of movement and money. With 3 kids I estimate with shoes, uniforms, and supplies to have spent close to 2k. So to all of my parents, I get your stress. To the amazing students I pray are protected and supported. A lot of people talk about supporting kids but support is an action word.

Friday Movie Review: Honk for Jesus

I got to see Honk for Jesus and it was a lot of fun. Here are a few takeaways. Have an open mind. There are going to be parts that will make you clutch your imaginary pearls. There is some talks about accountability. From the scandal to the aftermath. If you grew up in a Black church or had that as an experience there are points in which this will resonate. So be on the lookout for those moments. The ending is interesting and I do not provide spoilers. But have an open mind. Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown are dynamic in this comedy.

Blogs you may have Missed

This has been one busy week of blogs. We are still in a blogging streak. I don’t see that being broken any time soon. On Sunday I will be recapping my experience at a Music Concert. Monday although its usually Monday Motivation, I will do a full recap share of my Sunday Funday. And the blogs will continue from there.
