Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. What a week. Some lows but even more highs. I have a few media events that I will be attending. I will share them so you can plan your weekend according. Plus in October I will be a judge for the second time for the Burger Brawl. This is a must attend Fall event. Speaking of Fall, who is super excited?
Friday Feelings
Now that I am on day two of my recovery from my recent trigger, I am feeling much, much better. It is something to be said about the use of therapy and having tools in place before a trigger happens. When you try to find a plan after the fact it takes almost double time to recover and no one wants that. I hope for anyone who read that blog yesterday and it resonated with you. Please apply what works for you. When I said that I didn’t and don’t call my friends during that time-that may not fit you. You may have limited family and your friends are your people. Embrace them. What works for one may not work for all. Do what is best for you and take care of you. Take time outs, get some rest/nap, say no to things that no longer serve you.
Blogs you May Have Missed This Week
I put my all into these blogs. They have so many different elements to them. So take the time to read them. We are gearing up for the Fall. Next week’s themed blogs will be all Fall focused. So if you love the new season as much as I do, get ready to indulge.

A new episode is out today. How to be an ethical slut is a play that is produced, written, directed, and showcased by Brooke McCarthy for Fringe Arts . It was inspired by the 1997 book, “The Ethical Slut: A Practical Guide to Polyamory, Open Relationships and Other Adventures,” by Janet Hardy and Darcy Easton. This production will explore what it really means to live in your truth and own light. There are several showcasings happen get your tickets. The show is for ages 18 and up and has asked audience to come with an open mind as it’s not about sexuality as much as it sounds as if it is. Owning who you are is the message. You can also donate to Fringe Arts.
Thank you Brooke. Get ready to clutch your imaginary pearls.
Garces Trading Company
There is a new spot to grab food, dine in, have wine, enjoy bakery goods, and enjoy an elevated coffee shop experience and that’s with Garces Trading Company. It is a cute and stylish spot located at 2929 Arch Street called Cira Centre. Think of a cool open space that makes it all convenient for you. For instance, you can order and pay from your seat. It truly embodies what it means to have a relaxing experience. So trust me, you want to get in and enjoy these good food and drink options. Garces Trading Company is from Chef Jose Garces. He has several restaurants that we have highlighted here on the blog including Volver. We will be dining at Volvér this upcoming week.
Bros: Friday Preview
I attended a special screening of Bros. I will be meeting the stars of the movie later today. Directed by Nicholas Stoller features Luke McFarlane, Billy Eichner, and Kristin Chenoweth. It follows two gay men who are having an issue making a relationship work. Follow them on this hilarious journey as they discover more of who they are and what they want to define their relationship to be. The cast is fully LGBTQ+ and is out next Friday, September 30th. I loved it. It’s funny as well as the perfect romantic film. I will report back when I met the star today.
Weekend Things to do
There are a lot of things to do this weekend in Philly. For one go and see a show for Fringe Arts. From Late Night Snacks, to How to be an Ethical Slut and more. Pick a show, they is some for all including family oriented shows. Also the new production of Mushroom at People’s Light. In Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, “the mushroom capital of the world,” intersecting lives of immigrant families collide when a workplace injury, an unexpected romance, and the looming presence of immigration authorities have staggering ramifications for the entire community.

Also there’s plenty to eat at many of the restaurants I have highlighted. Don’t forget Negroni week is happening at all Fearless Restaurants and all over the world.
