Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. What a week. From media events to putting in balance this week has been great. Fall is in full effect but the weather has been giving Summer vibes. Self care has been the biggest thing on my menu. Being honest about what I need to do and what I need to keep my mind afloat has been my saving grace.
Fall Days at the Philadelphia Zoo
I took the girls to the zoo and we had a great time. My youngest enjoyed her face painting. I enjoyed seeing the otters and goats which are my favorites. In addition, I just enjoyed the girls. Something about walking around in the cool crisp air really did my mindset some good. One of the things about the Zoo outside of the animals is the walking around. We were under a time limit but I made it work out. The Philadelphia Zoo just announced tickets for Boo at the Zoo. Boo at the Zoo is a great time to get candy, dress up, and have a great time for the whole family. In addition there are three new things I saw at the Zoo.
- Staying Power is now extended
- Nature Blazers Scavenger Hunt
- New Animal Scooters Available
Adult Trick and Treat: Chaddsford Winery

It will end October 29th. The experience is for adults only. No kids of any age is allowed. Make sure you read the recap so you can be prepared for your before you know.
Rittenhouse Grill and David C. Driskell Room
This week I attended the dedication of the David C. Driskell Room at the Rittenhouse Grill. I learned a lot about the artist and his artistry. Seeing Black art being honored was special especially at the time when black art wasn’t appreciated. I loved that we were able to see the art come alive in the beautiful Rittenhouse Grill. If you haven’t ever been there please go and check it out. It is visually aesthetic. We enjoyed small plates, wine, and cocktails.
Mean Girls is at the Kimmel Cultural Campus-Friday Review
Mean Girls is now happening at Kimmel Cultural Campus. It is so fetch. The show is phenomenal. From the singing to the energy. Make sure that you wear your pink and bring your tribe. I had a great time with my girl, Elle. We just love being around one another. I was sharing with her my daughter who is in High School’s first mean girls experience. So the show was on time for me just with that in mind. Make sure that you read the blog and get your tickets.
Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast
On the podcast this week there is no guest just me. In this episode the conversations are a recap of the Kirk Franklin concert review, mental health and adding more of what you like or love, and its national depression education and awareness month. Simply having conversations regarding mental health will not make it happen to you. I say this since I grew up in a church that believed in not speaking these types of things on your life. I feel that there is a disconnect with having an open and honest conversation regarding mental health and the church.
So, let’s talk more about it to save others and let more know how normal they are to experience mental health and find ways to assist people in living a great life with it.
Franklin Institute: A Night Under the Stars with Visit Rochester
Oh what a night. We went to the Franklin Institute to enjoy a showcasing of what the Solar Eclipse will look like April 8, 2024. I am excited for this opportunity. I haven’t been to Rochester since college days. They had the most amazing food and awesome hospitality. We learned about what to expect not only during the eclipse but also the amazing things that it is to do in Rochester as well.
I have so much content so when I say stay tuned, please do. This weekend has so many moving parts so make sure you follow along. Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend.
