Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. In a non traditional move, I am adding the Friday check in later than we normally would. I hope you had a great week. From media events, high school tours gone bad and life in-between-let’s get into my week.
Trunk and Treat and Halloween Vibes
We had a great Halloween. We really had a great time with friends this year. Bring me back to pre-pandemic times. Clark Park is the best place to be. From the candy, food, and vibes it was everything and more. It’s always good when you are able to take the kids out and be safe as well. Also great shout out to my kids school who did an outstanding job of creating a safe space for the kids to enjoy themselves.
High School Tour Experience
Now West Catholic Preparatory school could be a good school. My kids will just never know it. The reason is simple. We had an appointment to attend a tour. The school sent us an email to confirm the appointment. We get to the school and no one is aware of us coming. What happened next was absolutely unprofessional. A woman, I am not sure of her title, stated that it was an oh well and that us not having a tour wasn’t her problem. Before I could even interject her and the other parent waiting began arguing. There wasn’t an apology for what took place or anything. A guy comes out and tries to fix it but by then I was already done. He wasn’t able to give a tour but wanted to reschedule me. I said absolutely not and reminded him about second chances, etc.
So now I am not going back there. None of my other children will I take up there either. The tour could have been scheduled had the attitude had been better. In addition I watched as students let in several adults. Safety is a huge concern
Conversations with Toi-Friday Podcast Drop
This week I talk about rest and choices. Sometimes we can’t sleep or get real rest due to our choices. We know that there are things that we should fix but we don’t. Could be for a number of reasons but at the end of the day our ability to rest and bad decisions do go hand in hand. Also I talk about the holiday rush. People are up in arms over Mariah Carey’s “It’s time!” proclamation. Why? Thanksgiving is going to come. The day is symbolize by being grateful and dinner with family and friends. Whether your tree is up or not you can still enjoy the day. So listen to the episode today.
Sofitel Philadelphia and “We Are Here”
Sofitel Philadelphia has combined with Christina Sorace to present “We are Here.” It’s a new art exhibit in the lobby of the Sofitel. It’s stunning. Bold paintings that line the lobby. In addition to the showcase we were also able to try the Khaleesi from their new seasonal menu. So if you are in the Philadelphia area, stop by Sofitel for a drink and bites and view the display. Thank you to Sofitel and Aversa PR for having me. If you are thinking holiday staycations, add Sofitel to the top of the list. Theater Reviews
I attended 2 shows this week. I will have their reviews up starting tomorrow. In addition to that I attend another show tonight. There is another one on Sunday. Philadelphia Theater scene is booming right now. Make sure that you attend these shows if you can. These amazing artist are some of the best around.
Weekend Vibes-Friday Proclamation
I hope you have the most amazing and relaxing time this weekend. I know that if you blink, the weekend seems to be over. So make sure that you take your time and enjoy it.
