Happy Friday! Cheers to the weekend. As we get ready to be in high gear for the weekend, let’s remember a few things. One this weekend is a solemn one for many. For those who have lost their mothers, those who have no contact or connection with their mothers, for those who have lost a child, and for those who long to have a child-I see you and stand with you in your grief!
Mother’s Day Weekend
Let’s be gentle with people this weekend. If your family is getting together let’s not make a few mistakes. One do not ask a woman when is she going to have a baby! Do not tell her that next year is her year even if you know of her struggle! It’s simple devastating. Just say hello and leave grown women to figure out their uterus. Please be kind. You have zero idea what someone is going through! If you have a mom who is present shower her with love and gifts. Sometimes the gift of time whether in the form of a visit or letting her have time to herself.
Toibration Thus Far
I’ve been celebrating my birthday since Sunday! I do a 10 day celebration. It sounds extra and to some it is, but it’s a way to pour back into myself. You only get one birthday. The way the world is going celebrating is a good thing. So far I’ve gone to my favorite French pastry shop, gotten my favorite drinks and food, had some much needed me time, and did a little retail therapy. My actual birthday is on Monday, May 10th. You don’t have to but it you want to buy me a coffee, you can!
What to Expect
If you missed the announcement my piece with What to Expect is out. I read the book almost 12 years ago. I never thought I would write a piece for them. It’s my desire to do more editorial pieces and it’s on my vision board. I pitched them a year ago and here we are! It shows you have to belief in yourself and not be afraid of the ask! I’m proud of the piece. It allowed me to talk about Postpartum Depression (PPD) in a clear way!
Cinco de Mayo
Did you celebrate it?! We did at home. This is the second year we have been at home but you know what we are able to drink as many margaritas as we wanted to without having to have a designated driver. I made my now infamous strawberry margarita. It was delicious. How did you celebrate?
