Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. It’s been one crazy week! From birthday celebrations-yes I’m still celebrating to finally visiting my family the week has had it’s ups and downs.
On the Train
I took the train to visit my family in Lancaster, PA. It was super relaxing at least the trip up. I didn’t want to drive and the peace and quiet was well worth it. I didn’t take the family this time. This was my first trip in months. All of us were vaccinated. Being able to hug everyone with more certainty was everything. I even visited with my grandparents. Surprisingly I didn’t get many pictures but I did make a Reel.
Birthday Shenanigans
I’m still celebrating my birthday. My friend Elle took me on a brunch at Harper’s Garden. Now that I’ve had their dinner I can say I’ve had their brunch. It’s an experience. The drinks are good and so is there food. The company was the best. Nothing like catching up with friends. Harper’s Garden has food for pescatarian, vegetarian, and meat eaters. For vegans the selection was quite small. So unless you’re okay with small bites and you’re a vegan hanging out with a mixed crowd this may not be your place to go! I also made a Reel!
What Are We Buying?
This week we focused on health. So we are buying elderberry for our healthcare needs. Airborne is my go to. Their elderberry comes in 3 or 5 packs. You can save 10% by using code TOITIMEBLOGSAVE!!
We also are buying Brain Boosting supplements by VegePower. This is to help with memory. Yes even now I need to use it. I’m more like Dory. A lot of people font know that little fact about me. My memory is pretty bad. It’s easy to swallow, plant based, and doesn’t leave an after taste.
Blogs Missed This Week
This has been a great week for blogs. We focused more on mental health care. This month is mental health awareness. May 20th was Mental Health Action Day! Many resources given. Lots of speaking out and speaking up! I was honored to be apart of it!
We also shared a lot of mental health resources too!
Podcast, Conversations with Toi
We are on a break until Friday June 4th. However this week I highlighted the episode of Mental Health. In this episode I speak candidly speak up about my issues that I’ve experienced. If you’re looking to hear about the highs and lows of navigating therapy and the mental health space, listen in!
Out and About
I got out a little outside of the brunch with my girl. I attended the Yards and Lokal Artisan Foods premiere of French Toast Bites Beer. This collaboration is truly amazing. I’ve talked about Charisse many times on the blog. She’s taking an idea for French Toast seasonings and made actual French toast bites, coffee and now beer. Her ability to work hard as well as pivot during this time has been unmatched. Being woman owned and Black owned I give her all of the flowers. The French Toast bites beer is expanding to other states, in Philadelphia you can order it through goPuff as well as buy it in grocery stores. Congrats!

Next week we have more blogs coming your way! Memorial Day weekend is also coming up so plan now. Be vigilant now that the CDC has lowered mask wearing. Do what’s best for you and your family. People are up in arms but the solution is simple. If you’re not comfortable not wearing your mask, wear it.
