Happy Friday. Oh what a great day to have a great day. If you are in or near the Philadelphia region you are expecting some hot weather this weekend. Make sure that you prepare for it. I hope that you had an amazing week. As Fridays is the traditional close of the work week, let’s do some weekend goals right. So what’s the deets on the week?
Downton Abbey is Out today
If you are a fan of the show you will love the movie. Out today the gang’s all here and they are ready for a little drama. Make sure you catch it. It’s expected to bring some answers to a few questions lingering. Let me know if you enjoy it. I am at events all weekend but early next week I plan to indulge and I will report back.
Hairspray on Tour
I had the opportunity to see Hairspray at the Kimmel Cultural Center and it was everything and more. There was a little anticipation as they had a small late start. However once the show started it came out with the bang. I want to take this time to say, that if you have never seen the show or movie before it does have a lot of layered theme. My thoughts are to give some of the patrons who were there five seconds of grace that they were unaware of this. The story includes racial injustice and movement. If this is your first time seeing this played out on film, please prepare yourself for it. Be respectful. The crowd was multicultural. Do not take and make the experience a lessen one due to any issues you may be bringing in.
The singing of course was one of a kind. So many times I wanted to jump up as if I was having a church experience. The stage is bright and welcoming. This is the show you participate in by singing, dancing, and clapping. Enjoy it The show ends at the Kimmel Center this Sunday. Get your tickets now. Don’t forget to listen to the podcast as well.
Travel Gems
So I have been mentioning it a few times but I am currently in Los Angeles. It has been a blast. All of the prep, stress of my first flight since the pandemic, and more has been all worth it. I have been masked up as well. Covid numbers are going up. However I can’t wait to share all of the amazing content of the trip. If you are following me on social media make sure you lean in. I just started sharing what I used to help with my anxiety. If you have been following me for some time you know its my Calmigo. It’s my go to to aid in stress relief and more. Use my code Toitimeblog to save $30 on your own device. It’s a calming device that has whatever scent you choose. It’s natural and effective. The size of it fits in your hands so it’s discreet to pack etc.
Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop
When Fridays comes around that only means that there is an episode available. With that being said today’s Friday episode is all about burnout. We all experience burnout in many ways. Some may be more irritable, short, or feel drained and don’t want to participate in their normal activities.
Today’s podcast guest is Holly. Holly Penney is a mom, finance enthusiast, speaker, writer, self-love advocate, 4-time ovum donor, travel addict, minimalist and lover of all things chocolate. Experiencing childhood trauma and then as an adult, Holly began to realize there were negative patterns in her life.
One day, as she calls it a “low point,” she decided to take matters into her own hands and dive deep into personal development. This was the beginning of her healing journey. Growing self-awareness, Holly came to realize that for the first 30 years of her life, she didn’t know the meaning of self-care. After attending a retreat in 2019, Holly fell in love with herself and found a passion for journaling.
Since 2019 she has made a commitment to prioritize self-care. Whether that’s going for a run, taking a long hot bath or journaling. Holly started a successful professional bookkeeping firm (NovaRidge Bookkeeping Ltd.). Being able to support people was another passion of hers. Holly decided to make it her mission to support them anyway she could.
Holly’s Ambition
She began creating a journal (launching June 2022) in hopes of inspiring women to fall in love with themselves. In 2021, Holly launched a book club called As The Page Turns, creating a safe space for like-minded women to talk about personal growth. She continues to share her story by speaking and writing. Holly is dedicated to supporting women on their self-love journeys by creating community through her workshops, retreats and journaling. Her new website will launch in May 2022.
Well that’s it for now. I will be back home soon. Until then content is king so I will be gathering it and showing what I have been up to. So stand by. Have a great weekend and an amazing Friday.
