Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Friday

Happy Friday. I hope you all had an amazing week. This week has had some interesting highs and lows. Also if you missed any of the media events I have you covered. Also Fridays mean another episode of Conversations with Toi is out as well. So here’s how the week went down.

Daylight Savings Time

For most people this week there was a lot of chatter of struggling with the time difference. We lost an hour this past weekend. With it being sleep awareness I hope that this upcoming weekend is filled with rest. There are a few things that you can do to increase your sleep that we discussed on the blog. One of the ways to ensure that you have an amazing sleep at night is to be intentional with you night time routine. What you do before you go to bed may make a difference in how well you wake up. So this week I hope we are becoming more adjusted.

Arden Theatre Presents Back Tracking

In case you missed the blog, Backing Track is a must see. I loved how Eric Thomas took the concept of a karaoke playlist to showcase life after loss. The concept of community in how do you come together to build in the midst of gentrification. The production is happening now until April 10th. Not mentioned on the blog is the day that I saw it which was this past Sunday was also the St. Patrick’s Day parade. I had to walk about 10 minutes to get to the play on time. I was aware of the parade thanks to Arden Theatre sending out the messaging. Felt great getting that walk in. It made for a better Sunday Funday. Congrats to the cast and crew for a job well done.

P’unk Burger

If you love Girl Scouts cookies and milkshakes than you will love P’unk Burger. They are combining both and making sure that there are Vegan options as well. Try one of their shakes.  Make sure you include one of their amazing burgers and sides. I was invited for a media preview. I enjoyed it so much. Trust me the shake alone can be a meal. Add the burger and side and I left with a food baby. I love that at P’unk they always have Vegan options. Being Vegan it makes it easier to find a restaurant that can accommodate my eating habits as well as allow for an amazing atmosphere.

Spring is on its Way

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for this new season. Spring is about new life, awakening, bright colors, and more. My husband and I have been doing some spring cleaning too. It’s time to be able to open some windows. Getting outside a little bit more. It’s a great welcoming if you like I do suffer from Depression especially Seasonal Depression. It’s like being able to see yourself after the Winter drought.

Women’s History Month Power Hour

This event was held by Sydney Grims and Antonia DePace at Louie Louie. What an honor to have been invited. The panel included women from all walks of life sharing some of the lessons they learned. When they said it was a Power Hour they weren’t lying. I had the best time learning from these women. Lessons on asking for what you want, putting self care as a priority, speaking up about money and more. I felt empowered and not in the superficial way that we sometimes talking about empowerment. The type of empowerment where you take action.

Weekend Plans-Friday Welcome

This is a down time weekend. Time for me to enjoy my nail appointment and self care. I am going to one media event on Sunday. But Saturday I look forward to family time and errands. Also switching the St. Patrick’s tree (my Christmas aka all year long tree) to an Easter tree) can’t wait. I hope that you find something to do that you truly enjoy.

Friday

Content is edited and look for the blog on my time at Volver on Saturday. The first day of Spring is on Sunday. Look for the content to turn towards Spring time activities and more. To all but especially those who do things online, find some time to step away from the computer, laptop, or phone,  Have a great Friday and Hello to the weekend!
