Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

self care Wednesday

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. I hope your week has been going well. I’m happy to report that this week was much better than last week. I am ahead of my mental health and taking care of myself properly. I hope your week was prosperous. Let’s get into the ups and downs of the week.

Rent The Musical Last Friday Fun

I attended the showing of Rent the Musical last Friday. To say that it wasn’t fun would be a lie. I had a blast and a half. The show was at the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus. Also at the Kimmel is their series of live music and happy hour fun is In the Plaza. It was an entire vibe. It felt so good to be out and about with others. Also it makes for a great way to meet up for drinks before the show.

Rent is one of my favorites and this show was filled with amazing talent. The only issue was that they were in Philadelphia for one weekend only. So if you didn’t see them last week your opportunity to see them in Philadelphia was missed. It’s their 25th anniversary and they are touring the world. Thank you to the Kimmel Center and Bryan Buttler Media Relations for having me.

You can see the Reel for In the Plaza.

Golden Girls is in Philadelphia

Without a Cue presents the Golden Girls Mystery Dinner. I had a blast last Saturday. The show is full of nostalgia. From the themed drinks and bites to the laughs I had a great time. The show is done at the lower level of Craft Hall in Philadelphia. It’s about an hour and a half. You are solving who killed Jessica Fletcher. There are several shows and they are all different.

So when booking, keep in mind which show you want. But you get to become a Sleuth as you solve the crime. There is singing of the theme song various moments. You should see how interactive everyone was with each other. If you are a fan, get your tickets now. As always here is a Reel of the night.

Laughter is Good for the Soul-Helium Comedy

I attended the live taping of Simon Gibson’s show at Helium Comedy Show. I loved being hosted by them. When I am invited to see parts of the city I never take it for granted. Upon entry, security already knew who I was. They treated me so well. In  addition I watched how they handled others. Helium takes hospitality as a priority. So if you are looking to see some of your favorite local and national comedians this is your place.

Pizzeria Vetri-Pizza Friday?

Who doesn’t love good pizza? Pizza is a great comfort food. So when I got invited back to Pizzeria Vetri it wasn’t even a question. I love their service. Hands down they treat you well from the time of walking in the door until you leave. It’s almost like the restaurant was open just for you. This time I had the Nutella dessert pizza. I enjoyed it. It’s not something I would have had at home but that’s the best part-trying new things. Thanks to Pizzeria Vetri for having me.

Thanks to all who support the show. You can support by listening to an episode, review, and sharing.

Women’s History Month

We support women all year long. We have had a great month so far highlighting amazing women and women owned businesses. If you missed the interview with JJ Ramberg of Goodpods catch it. Also thanks to Jane of Jane Win. She’s an amazing jeweler. She gifted me such a beautiful piece. Check it out on my stories on Instagram.

Women's Day

Happy Friday again. I will have the review for Oklahoma that I attended on Wednesday up on Saturday. It’s been quite busy. I love that. Remember no matter how busy you are schedule a slow down. Take a break. Do not find yourself in a burnout like I did last week. It’s not a great place to be in. Prioritize your self care and mental wellness.

Turning Red is out Today

Our Friday night just turned red. Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” introduces Mei Lee (voice of Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda!

Directed by Academy Award® winner Domee Shi (Pixar short “Bao”) and produced by Lindsey Collins “Turning Red launches exclusively on Disney+ on March 11, 2022.
