Happy Friday. Cheers to the weekend. This weekend has so many events going on. I will definitely do my best to highlight them. If you are in or near Philadelphia, you have a pool of events to choose from. Outside of that, parents how are you doing? I feel like it’s been weeks of Summer vacation. For our household it’s only been a week. Someone please come and take the wheel. So let’s get into all of it.
Storr Summer Camp
Yes its a real place, in my house. We didn’t want to put our kids in camp. We did that for a few years ago and I learned how to do the same thing without paying someone else do it. I have the ability to work from home so it’s easy for me. A lot of parents aren’t able to do that and I recognize the privilege. It’s not easy. As a Content Creator, projects due, deadlines and getting them out of the house, it’s a balancing act. So this week I allowed more of a laid back week. Next week, I have a schedule of events to do. From library trips, movies, visits to the Lake and more-we will be definitely busy. I of course will keep you posted on how it all goes down.
This weekend is like an explosion of media events that will mix family events, beer fests and more.
Marcel the Shell with Shoes On Friday Movie
We got a chance to see Marcel the Shell. If you haven’t seen it pull it up on YouTube. The movie is super cute. It also has some moments of addressing grief in a childlike way. However for my kids who have experienced this with their Paternal Grandmother and recently our family cat (son), it brought up feelings. They did well and we talked about it. It may not have the same feelings for your children. Marcell is definitely a movie for all ages. During the premiere it was more adults than kids in the theatre. Marcel the Shell comes out today in select theaters. It comes out in all theaters on Friday July 15th.

Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge will be treated to a free 50-minute family-friendly theater show. Free

We have Kristin Sparks of Wrar. Kristin is an Author, Speaker, and Podcaster of Wrar with Sparks. In 2013 she suffered a fall that left her wheelchair-bound and later, battled and survived cancer. In 2021, she founded the Sister Wyrd Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that supports and celebrates women on their journey of self-transformation.
We talk about Joy. Joy is one of those moments of life where it doesn’t matter what you have. It’s about pushing through the difficult and seeing the light even when it’s so dark you can barely see in front of you. It’s a mindset. Make sure you tune into the episode.
