Happy Friday! I hope your week was amazing. The first Friday of the New Year! If you’re reading this no matter how bad your situation there’s definitely hope for it to be better. I hope your New Year is off to a great start.
No Media Events
There were no events this week due to the last week of after Christmas to the New Year people rightfully spend it with family and friends. So the rest of all who work in media and events surround events I pray you had a restful few days. Thank you for all you do.
Covid-19
Our family continues to heal from Covid-19. We are much better. It was a long week. From the children not able to go back to school since being positive to having to sleep and heal it was a long week. Our symptoms were mild considering we were all vaccinated and the adults were boosted. My son had no symptoms. My daughters and us parents had coughs, body aches, fevers, throat issues, and more. I’m so glad that we are all on the mend. Everyone in the house minus my youngest and myself are negative the two of us are positive.
New Year’s Eve
We spent the New Year Eve sleeping for the most part. I did some laundry too but not because of the whole wash clothes before the New Year. It was due to the fact that we needed clean clothes after lounging around in pajamas and needing clean sheets. I also finally had enough energy to make the family a nice meal. We had been eating soup for the last few days. My dad called me about 11:40 and that was how I woke up to do champagne cheers to bring in the New Year. Our champagne of choice is Renault Winery’s Pink Champagne.

Also did you know that January is National Hot Tea month? See my Reel for all of the encouragement of drinking tea and how it can be a form of self care.
Book Recommendation
For Christmas we were adamant on making sure the kids got several books to read. From our family and friends who gifted our children books to us getting them quite a few too. One of the books I absolutely loved was for my youngest daughter. “Black Girl Magic” is well written by child author, Zahra Bryan. It’s a book that encourages young girls to love the differences about themselves no matter what. The imagery and word choice was easy to read but gave such a powerful message. Please consider getting it as it’s an excellent read.
